Meadows, Gumms & Nairne would be low div 6/high div 7.
Birdwood, Kersbrook & Echunga div 5.
Lets not forget Birdwood finished bottom (around about) in the Central two years ago.
Also the SAAFL is a diffrent type of football, much more skillful etc

I know you can't take much out of trials but we pumped Para Hills by about 18gls last year and they were div 3.
Pushing forward is pretty close I reckon (he should know, he was down there last year ;) ) but I'm not sure how he has Kersbrook ahead of Birdwood unless they've turned around a 20gl difference from when we played last. Their recruits must be awesome ;)
Knowing him, he was probably just fishing though.

Also like he mentioned, there's a massive difference between top and bottom and our clubs probably spread from Div 3 down to Div 7 and I still don't reckon Callington would win a game in the C grade down there.

18 goals.... You sure bout that. Para hills were up at Half time, think it was 6
Birdwood would play in Div 4 and be solid. Don't think any country side would play finals in div3

I ventured up to Nairne to watch the Country (Div 2 hills) Div Prelim Final, Echunga vs Meadows as i recall and it was a FILTHY standard of football.....Div 4 or 5 equilivent at best :vom:

However i did watch the GF at Hahndorf a few weeks later with a few mates and we were impressed by the standard of both teams (bigger bodies & had skills resembling a decent standard of amateur football)

Come on Champ, if your taking results for a trial game as an indication of comparing levels then you are an idiot and haven't been around footy for very long!

This may have been mentioned but it seems that Macceslfield have done some half decent recruiting this year by getting Brad Smith from Ironbank! Surprised he has left his brother to go play at Maccy? Big strong forward though and will still kick quite a few goals in the Country league.

You would hope they have recruited some decent Midfield players as well as their issue last year was they couldn't get the ball into their forward line, would hate to be paying a forward $$ for him just to be sitting there!!!

I know Nairne are working hard to climb the ladder this year and given their leading goalkicker was a midfielder who kicked 30 odd goals it would seem a smart move to go really hard at a key forward. If the bloke kicked a 100 in Mildura I hate to think what he might finish with down there.

It's a discussion that is far to objective and relative to have a definetive answer...
Country div is, unfortunelty, too varied from top to bottom thus you will never get a true representation of the skills of each team.
