Pardon my ignorance, but I’m relatively new to this comp. Question in regards to using a slash player for the finals (O2 Thief might be able help me here, as fair to say his club has played finals frequently) but are you able to play A grade one week, then B grade the next? For example, and this use to happen in my old comp, but we’d have guys from the A grade unavailable due to footy trials on the Saturday (Day 1) then play them on Day 2 on the Sunday. By doing this we were able to have a B grader fill in for the A’s on the Saturday and drop back to the B’s for the Sunday. Anyone have a definitive answer?

pretty sure you cant play 2 grades in the same match, otherwise you are playing for two teams in the same round.
but that is only a guess mate....but I would not.

Hmmm good question Couger i'm unsure as to what the answer is.

I know in Grade cricket you can during the year (this is regualr during the season with redback games) but come finals i'm unsure i would've though if someone can only play one week they would have to play in the lowest grade :?
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Sorry mate, should have explained myself better. It's not happening this game, but at my old club Kersbrook as an example, we had Brett, Roger and Paul James, Stewart Dew and Robbie Neill play cricket for us. I'm not too sure their past employers as footy coaches would have been too happy if they told their coach they were missing a trial for a Hard Wicket Cricket final.

I do remember reading Roy Laird opted out of playing an 'A' grade district cricket final, just so he could play a footy trial.

I think our old comp were flexible to the rule with the number of quality footballers that use to play in our comp.

That only applies to players required for State or national commitments. Can't sub out players just because they are unavailable for part of the match.

IMO if blokes think a football trial is more important then they should not play the entire match.

Again I can assure you no one is missing a final for Rose Park due to a football trial. It was just an example. What if Carey was in our 'A' grade and his Misses dropped on Saturday afternoon, so we had to bring up a B grader (who were also in the finals) for one week. Do we say to that B grader sorry you can't play next week now, cos Carey will be back and you can't drop back down?

Surely someone from Vista would know the answer :)

Hey Cougar thankyou for your question... :D
If the said player has played more games in the B's than in the A's he's fine
to play in the GF.

Just read your previous post again.
If someone is selected to play in the A's he cant then play in the B's the following week of a
two day game.

Seaton would be in charge of dress code for finals
Extra incentive for you blokes and us to win too Smasha as Cougar's Bar now sells Scotch and Bourbon. Had to keep the best looking bloke in the comp happy ;)
