I'm positive Bridgewater were more than happy to follow the trend of paying players for success and still do quite willingly. Does that mean they'll now stop and follow Lofty? :?

Bridgewater have maybe 5 paid players? Those players aren't only selected on ability but how they will influence culture.

Mt lofty back in the day had locals who couldn't get a game and loved the club, players that would make A grade at ANY other club, how would that influence culture? Yet Mt lofty would still pay 80-90% of the team. The locals who couldn't get a game went to Echunga and won a premiership.
As said above Mt Lofty following on our example, culture is the priority.

How's that going for you? I do believe 3 or 4 local Bridgewater players under the age of 21 left for Lofty last year?

Like i said no club is looking for positive culture when they recruit Adam Curkpatrick, he cares about 1 person on a side.
Also didn't Onkas recruit Jon Debrow a few years back? How did that work out? Although in Onkas defense they did tell Matt Cooper to go jump last year when he approached them. I believe that would be the best decision for any clubs culture

Have you ever actually met Adam Curkpatrick???? Maybe your thinking about a differen't one because the one I know is an awesome teacher of the game to young blokes, runs extra sesssions, and hangs out with all the blokes at the club outside footy. Maybe think about what your saying before painting an awesome bloke like that.

I think Mt Lofty was better suited for those players who left. Enough said.

People change clubs every year? The guys we've paid big money for in the past have all been great for the club. Plus i think you'll find there are a few coming for next to nothing and may not even play A Grade, i think its great they like the coach so much the want to still have a kick and a catch under him. Every southern player is worth 3 points and we only have 12 to spend so the Roos might just win an As and a Bs flag this year :D

Define "Bugger All". Onkas have a decent war chest.

Sound like your barking up the wrong tree! obviously you dont know him, was lucky enough to be there for a couple of years while he was coaching, stand up bloke who give his heart and soul to Compass, I still keep in touch with a few of the boys and I know theres a heap of players that would love to have his 'culture' back there, possibly why a few have have made the move, I dont know the full story yet but I think you will find the players werent "taken" either, but had decided to leave, anyway if steve was going to 'take' anyone he would have given up his first born to get broky there, didnt brokys missus susspect them of having an affair they spent that much time together!! haha inhouse joke!!. Anyway what are you meant to say when a player wants to go to a new club and is happy to play in any grade, would any one turn them away. Anyway hope the compass boys like the cold, good luck boys!!

I know for a fact that Brokey didn't answer any of Hooter's calls for about 6 weeks after he first got wind that Hooter had been in discussions with the Compass lads. Play on though, people change clubs often these days, loyalty is rare.

Talking to a few Willaston people last night and they say Gordon and McDonald from Mt Lofty are burning up the track and fitting in well at the club.
How did they go last year for Mt Lofty and are they good players.

No Sunday Finals this year if that is accurate at this early stage?

Both the Elimination & 1st Semi finals listed down for Saturdays. I remember this logistical nightmare well from SFL days, if you have your B grade playing at one location & A grade at another it requires you to pretty much double your trainers, support staff, resources, equipment etc.

Just an observation...
