Bird throwing the ball away for 4 overthrows when the ball was hit straight back at him and no chance for a run-out in the final over of our batting innings cost them the game by the looks.

Chuck Berry now has coached South Australian teams in 3 comps in 2 seasons
SA win the 20/20 last season
SA win the Ryobi this season
Berry has a 66.66% strike rate
If we count the franchise team the strikers its still a 50% strike rate

Im glad we won, but what a incomplete way to finish the game
That 2 teams could tie in a grand final , and one team wins does not sit with me
Should be a replay or a super over or whatever
Now imagine if SA lost this game in TA this way

As for the game
Could not believe how often the TA batsman hit the ball in the air, wide and short of fielders tonight
Sometimes to the fielders , but not taken !

Special mention to Dan Harris
Been out of sorts this Ryobi season, but managed to perform in a Grand Final
And surprise surprise, no one haddago at Doc in earnest in this thread

Looked like he had a huge say in changing Klinger's mind by bowling Putland instead of O'Brien in the 3rd last over.

So if Putland takes the catch and doesn't knock it over the boundary for 4, we win by 2 runs? WAAAAY too many individual moments in a 50 over game to blame just one for winning/losing IMO...

And how good is Ponting, taking his pads off, I have never seen that. Shows how much playing cricket, and winning means to him. Having him play tonight made the win even more special, his experience almost helped Tassie win the game.

I can't believe he didn't face one ball in the final over. Geez! Tassie blew it!!!

Bailey played SUPERBLY but in the end he played a silly shot, and Faulkner couldn't hit the ball off the square, if at all most deliveries.

We stole that one!!

Yeah, unfortunately the only stat that matters is the zero wins in the comp that matters the most

That matters tomorrow. Not tonight. For a team that's done SFA for the last 15 years, tonight is great. Such a good feeling.

Yeah sits weirdly. I just cant get pumped about it as i dont feel 'we won' the title.

I had similar feelings in junior cricket we won every game of the minor round won the semi due to heat and the final because of rain due to being the highest ranked side. I dont even count it as a premiership.

REALLY, what about the tied AFL GF a couple of years ago, would you have been happy to see Collingwood lift the trophy, get presented the medals and do the lap of honour straight after that final.

Great game of cricket, a wins a win by the rules they have in place.

I remember years ago if scores were tied the side that lost the least amount of wickets in the game was declared the winner.

IMHO a tie is a tie and that's that ;)

Stop complaining. We'll take it. How about a WHC boxing match and it ends in an even score from the judges, the belt stays the champ and they are happy as Larry.

No one complained when we held the shield up in the mid 90's did they. It's not just because we were the higher ranked team, we were the home team, in both the ODD and Shield finals the home team wins in cases of a draw or a tie.

No complaints here, just would like to have won the game that decides the champions.
