Also suprised by the Echunga result anyone see that game?

Kersbrook kicked poorly at goal, Echunga have picked up a couple and won't be too bad.

See Gary's at it again.....Ivan Silvy 17 goals!

Thanks mate, I think that him and his bro/cousin started at Willaston before heading to Two Wells (he coached TW for a year from memory...?)
He has great hands and can kick the ball a mile.
He'd be playing CHF??
Thats the Hills Div 2 though isn't it??

Well im so bored at work and there hasnt been much talk on here lately, so round one boys..

Blackwood vs Ironbank -> Ironbank i think might win as their recent form has been somewhat impressive in the A's, big improvers this year i dare say, as long as Muffy hasnt gone walkabout!! Plus i cant pick Blackwood, it would be like picking Collingwood or Port Power, i just cant do it!!

Hahndorf vs Lobethal -> Tough one, no idea on recent form so maybe Lobethal??

Uraidla vs Bridgewater -> Gee, hmm umm Uraidla?!? Sorry but think Bridgy and Mt Barker will be toughing it out with the Roosters for the Wooden spoon!

Onkas vs Birdwood -> see above

Mt Barker vs Mt Lofty -> well if Mt Barker can fill two teams i will be impressed and i will be even more impressed if they can kick more than a goal a quarter against the goats, defintely will be the biggest margin of the round.

So bring on the onslaught....I need some entertainment today.

Mt Lofty to win by the margin of the season.
At $400 a game plus a hefty sign on S. Byrt for Mt Baker would want to play 3 positions at once and get best on ground in each position.

Yeah Country Div = Div.2.
He was Barossa Districts Full Forward last year and will be Torren$ Valley$ while their other Full Forward is injured.

The only 3 positions Byrt needs to worry about for Sat are Doggy, Missionary and 69 cos the barkeroos are going to get screwed left right and centre!

Im not underestimating onkas, as i said above i think they will clean up the Roosters quite easily.

I think that the top three in the A's will clearly be a massive cut above the rest with Lofty, Onkas and Uraidla. Remember Onkas were the only team to beat Mt Lofty last year, even though they got easily cleaned up by the devs when they played them at Goat Park. I think (fingers crossed) that they give Lofty a good run this year. Whilst its nice to be on the top it can also get a little boring when the devs are cleaning up teams by 100+ points most weeks. It certainly doesnt make for exicting football.

Can anyone tell me which club was the driving force behind the introduction of the C Grade competition?? I think its a great concept. At the end of the day the more people we can get out there having a kick the better, regardless of the standard. Has the format, program, etc been finalised??

Onkas may be a dark horse. They have come in a bit under the radar so far this year. There hasn't been much talk about Uri's either. Will be interesting to see how both these teams go in the early rounds and whether they look the goods for finals time.

Picks-

Blackwood to just get up at home over the Thunderpants. Home ground advantage may be just enough and the Bankers haven't had their whole team in many trials from what I hear so will need a few weeks to gel.
Hahndorf versus Lobey may be low class battle. Tipping Lobey being a touch harder at it and getting over the top of the Germans.
Uri's to canter in over Shanty.
Onkas to smoke Birdwood for their first Div 1 game.
Lofty to kick a mullion at the Sandpit.

Any picks for the B's as well guys?

Funny you should ask, hows this. I know a Lonsdale player from that 2001 game who lost a GF in Broken Hill in the 90's by 1 point after being undefeated all year and beating the same side by 20 goals in the semi 2 weeks earlier. Also the Lonsdale coach from that GF in 2001 Coached McLaren B grade the very next year and they were undefeated all year and lost the GF to Willunga by 15 goals. I guess you win some you lose some.

A program has been put together I believe and sent to the HFL for ratification. They are setting up double headers on Friday nights (Balhanah and Goat Park) and Sundays Ironbank and Uraidla with 15 minute quarters. Apparantly Onka's have a dozen extra U17s as their base and Ironbank 8 or so extra Senoir Colts. Expected to start early May.

***NEWSFLASH****

Joel Brown was cleared back to Uraidla on Wednesday, it was all on the quiet too apparantly, the coach (Todd) didnt even find out till Friday. So Joel Brown will play footy this week, but in a red and blue jumper, not a blue and white one.
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...
