I would have it 50/50 the way units have been batting.

How low you batting??

We reversed our batting order out of arrogance, so I was scheduled to come in at 10
In fact I was that confident of not batting I didnt even bother bringing my gear, just my whites which sat in my back pack all arvo while I sipped slushies and scored... perfect day if you ask me!!!

In other news..

B. Jenner 77 and Clayton Cameron 54 put on 138 for the 1st wicket. Russell Figallo hit 52 and Jayden Broadstock hit 38. Other contributions were Stamatovich 25, Greig with 17, Cauchi 14* and D. Jenner 6.

J. Carmen had a dirty day out, if it wasnt for the wicket of Stama and 3 maidens on the trot his figures would've been worse than 17 overs 1/79 I think?

Was a lightning quick cow paddock though, and anything less than 300 would've been a disappointment, long way to go to win this one I can assure you.

With R&C scoring 310 I reckon he is batting in the right position.

  not a truer word has even been spoken! Infact batting at 10 is probably 2 spots too high!

i thought pg batted the way Phil Wyley would have wanted them to all season. very few rash shots, in fact, very few shots... blocked the day away until the last 10. i was a bit surprised they made so many, felt like 140ish. they did well to bat 69 overs though, crap day in the field, not with catches, just all over everything . not many highlights, both teams.... unless you can think pgcc opener B Dowling run out for 39 .....IN THE 56th OVER !!!! was a highlight.

Is that Dowling their keeper? If so then he has always been an extremely slow batsman.

Pretty sure the batsmen was given out...the umpire called deadball straight away then after he realised the ball was caught gave him out... Either way its gotta hurt and is lucky to be alive really..

Alright folks... As the end of the season draws near, so does my time in the PDCA. Just thought I'd post my all time opposition team from my time in the comp. Only posting 12, but I can assure you there's a lot of respected opposition players that missed out....along with spastics that I dont like. Have had some quality battles with all these guys and all have made me work really hard over the years...

1. Petrus
2. Howe
3. Heinrich
4. Stamatovich
5. Sibbick
6. Heidrich
7. Thomas
8. Jones
9. Carpentieri
10. O'Brien
11. DeJong
12. Ellis

Fair side there Oz.
I am sure you could include a few of your Westies team mates if you were picking your all time best.
Which Thomas and Jones (Dwayne or Dion)?

Great side!

Did you play much against Craig Laird i dont remember to much about him but alot of the old EP boys talk about him as being one of the best from Centrals around the era where they were dominating.

How strong was PDCA through the 90's and early 2000's!

Yeah I did... He was a very good player and was probably 14th or 15th on that list. Roy Laird was also a very good player and bloody sharp back in the day before his back issues too.

Craig got Centrals over the line in a GF against us..... We were defending 120ish and had them 8/90 with him at the crease. Although we dropped him, he still did the business that day.

Everyone will say the era before was stronger as time goes on, but you are correct... Early 90's was bloody strong. The comp has definitely lost its depth these last few years which is a shame. I remember rocking up every week and there was an opposition quick that could do damage on any given day.....you face some very friendly attacks these days.

A hell of a lot stronger than today, that is for sure. Not putting down any players around today but I was discussing the same thing with Bagster on Saturday. Never a easy game back then.

Even in Grade 3, back then B grade teams in Grade 3 were unheard of.
