GWS Season 2012

Did anyone like the West Sydney uniform? (I REFUSE to call it GWS)
I thought they were going with plain orange socks but that didn't happen.
I don't mind the colours, just wich it was a more traditional design.

I thought they went very well.

Hard to gage in this comp but plenty of positives for sheeds to work with

They are in for a very long season. Both the Bullies and the Pies had a heap of players out (especially the Pies). They looked good tonight but with the older guys in GSW Giants looked slow and when they rested the older guys in the second game they got brushed off the ball. Izzy couldn't get off the ground so if that is how fit he is after two years on the track then I don't see how much more advanced he is going to be after another six months. They were a bit unlucky not to snaffle a win tonight but these blokes are going to get smashed when the real matches start.

Agree 100% REB cant see them winning a game but i was just pointing out that they at least had some positives to work with the worst thing that could've happened to them was to get 2 hindings and Izzy stink the place up well they achived 1 of them any way.

Izzy was terriable i expected a lot more of Izzy than i did when Karmicheal started but he is way back!

My last post on the NAB cup thread was about the GWS. I bleieve they showed a bit, but they showed what the Gold Coast did as well, just not as good, was that they can play decent football but not for extended periods of time. Which means come the longer games, or normal games, then I think they will struggle a bit.

The Giants are coached a bit differently than the Gold Cost have been so far. McKenna has allowed the young group to back themselves which means they aren't tight defensively. Sheedy has got the Giants attempting to put more pressure on their opponents so perhaps the Gold Cost type blowouts of last year might not be on the cards so much. Both teams struggle to score goals but it will be interesting to see how much development the Suns have achieved over summer.

Might go down there next weekend to have a squiz for myself.

The rugby league convert was pinged 10 minutes before half-time at Canberra's Manuka Oval for what looked like a rough tackle on Richmond's Daniel Jackson close to the Giants' forward 50.

Half time in the reserves game, Sydney lead 15 goals to 1 (GWS didnt score in the first quarter). Will be a long year ahead if that keeps up for them.
