Leeds Rhinos World Rugby League Champions!

Postby Wedgie » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:52 am

Got up this morning at 6am to watch a great game between the Rhinos and the Sea Eagles, game a lot closer than the score of 26-12 suggests.
When Leeds were 6 nil up late in the first Manly were attacking right on their line but an intercept 95 me try made it 12-0.
Manly attacked non stop for most of 2nd half with the score being 16-12 for most of the half but the Rhinos got 2 late tries in the last 5 mins to make it 26-12.
What an awesome performance from a club that was 5th at the end of the minor round last year and went on to win the Championship and the World Club Challenge!
:D

...and Manly got beaten too!
Pity that this is the only game of English rugby league that we'll see this year though. :(

Yeah I was just saying earlier today to my mate from Leeds that it sucks how much we get, we used to get several games live and most games replayed in the late 90s. I only watch English Rugby League, I find NRL boring.

Too bad its only a pre season game for Manly
Id like to see what they'd do to Leeds in a September game :butthead:

Leeds would be ramping up for their finals in September and be a much better side.
Superleague play at the same time with the ony difference being the Superleague teams play a lot more games with their season starting before the NRL and finishing after it as well as a cup competition.

Eurosport, Ch511 is showing it and replay at 12.30 pm.
First time in 3-4 years that he game is being telecast.
Hopefully Leeds can win this for the first time since 1999 and

Leeds Rhinos are back at Old Trafford for a fifth time in six years after beating the top team Wigan in Wigan last night!
They've done exactly what they did last year in getting to the GF from fifth spot!
They'll be playing the winner of Warrington and St Helens who play tonight.

Which was Warrington 36-18
Big turnaround by the Wolves after Saints beat them 28-6 in a qualifying final two weeks ago.
Now we can get some revenge after the hiding Warrington gave us in the Challenge cup Final a month ago.

The good news its live, the bad news its at 3.30am. urgh.
We don't need too much revenge on Warrington after knocking them out of the finals last year at their home and they chose to play us in the semi and they were top all year.

GOT UP FOR IT AND WE DID IT AGAIN! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!
We were down 18-14 at one stage iin the last half but got the last 2 tries of the game to win 26-18.
I love this team!
5th spot to champuons two years running, World Champions and 6th championship in 9 years. And to think we were always running behind Wigan, St Helens and Bradford when I first started following them.
Now to see if I can get some sleep!
