For example there will be 9 sides previously in C1-C5 that will no longer be there and then C6 gets abolished
That leaves 4 grades for all other C Grade sides, which then need to be filled
well if thats what you think then, im suddenly not a fan...seriously though my main problem is where plympton are proposed to be, in c2... surely you can see a c4 side (us, hectorville, elizabeth) playing c1, c2 sides from last year is just plain silly... also my proposed c4 comp i suggested in a earlier post were we can have triple headers with 5 or six other sides who play in DIV4, plus the the same thing can happen with the clubs in DIV5 clubs... add in some clubs into the c4 and c5 comps who are at that standard and its solved.... surely common sense will prevail... some clubs dont have enough resources where they can have there c grade side to play else were evry week... and someone said that the saafl are goin to get triple headers every week, but tell me how they can make the c grade play were there A's are majority of weeks???? cant happen.... but with my idea and i know other clubs think the same, majority of weeks the c's will play with there A's.... this shouldnt be that complicated, but it seems to me that saafl and some people on here are making it aot harder then it should be....
as i said earlier if it ain't broke dont fix it!!!
Having been involved in C Grade footy for years, and in the last 4 years winning flags in C4, C3 and C2, I can tell you are toughest year was in C4 when we beat GG in the GF. There is no obvious difference between C4 and above, it purely depends on the depth of the clubs higher grades. A good C5 side could easily play C1 or C2, and vice versa, and C1 side could also struggle in lower grades.
I'm with you matey, iv'e been playing C's for years and there are no easy years of footy. There needs to be a relagation system in the C grades otherwise it gets so lopsided. I can say that because we have had a great last couple of years at Flinders Park and it has become like that with us. Over the last few years we have people playing that could still be playing A grade footy but can't commit for certain reasons. So what happens is other quality players come and play with them and so on. After a couple fo years you have a really strong side. Hey don't forget WB12 we played you the other year and that was our D grade up against your C grade. Exactly the same situation you are talking about on here. All it is bud is a challenge. Adelaide Uni did it last year and they nearly won a flag in C1 after going up from c2 for no reason. Take it on the chin and move on!!
And I'd almost forgotten that....grrr. Unluckily we ran into you guys in 2010 and an above standard Goodwood last year who had some fortunate help.
We went up as the Amateur League placed us up - not due to any request. Also went up from c4-c2 and c6-c4; all c division teams finished in the finals suggesting there's not a massive difference in standard from one to the other.
It wouldn't surprise me to see Uni in div 8 at some stage though.
