Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Postby The Brad » Mon Apr 16, 2007 11:54 am

I was quite shocked at a couple of results over the weekend, especially the Langhorne Creek v Myponga game. I expected the Creek to win but a lot of people were talking up Myponga as being a contender this year and that they had recruited really well yet they got pumped! The other bit of a shock was Strath going down to Compass. I expected Strath to win that one but obviously Compass played pretty well and have worked hard over the off season.
Any suprise players this week? I saw B. Stokes kicked 8 goals for Encounter Bay against the Saints. A few of the new recruits played well, Burdett, Yeomans, Saunders.

mclarens went down to willunga, 12-11 to 6-6 io think. mclarens came back in the 3rd quarter to be only a couple down at last change but willungas experience and dobson and mcgowan got them over the line. willunga missing key players and a couple of injuries during the game also hurt them.
langhornes surprisingly winning by so much, pongy would be scratching there heads now wondering where it all went wrong.
compass, very impressive start and with burdett getting best they would be very happy with that.
stokesy kicking 8 is no surprise, now he needs to back it up next week cause can be known to go missing but is an unstoppable pleyer when running on all cylinders.

So to answer FootyBad's question, did Ben Thompson play for Willunga?

The Brad I think you mean to repeat my question don't you?
Anyway,
Thompson didnt play and from all reports wont be until halfway mark of 07 if at all.

Anyone see the Mypo V Creeks game or the Compass game, burdett worth every penny although rumour has it Strath kicked 8 goal early before there wheels fell off.

Interesting to see the scores from most games showed that both teasm were in games until half time.

You go into every game confident B J, just comes down to how much your kiddin yourself! I don't think anyone could go in confident against the reigning premiers, but it may be a good indication where the Bays are at considering Willunga will be the benchmark once again alongside Langhorne.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Encounter Bay to win by 40-50 points (Saints will struggle all year)
Langhorne Creek to win by 30-40 points (Langhorne Creek the better side but Mudlarks always tough at home)
Mt Compass to win by 1-10 points (Upset of the round - Mt Compass will be the big improvers this year I reckon)
Willunga to win by 40-50 points (Demons simply too good)
Victor Harbor by 30-40 points (New coach Saunders will have the Roos firing at Yank)
Limb should be coaching Jackpot has all the answers I think the Creeks could give Strath a touch up this week

LIMB..... U R A Legend!!! Assuming Willunga Beat McLaren, U Tipped all 5 Including the upset of Compass over the Consistently OVER-RATED Roosters. =D> =D> =D> \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ :butthead:
