it hurts me to tell every one this but cj yes cj kicked 3 goal 2night against a lack luster golden grove it hurts even more to say that the friars boys looked fairly good or was it golden grove were that bad ? or was it a bit of both ? who knows but what i did notice was golden groves fitness was very very average i seen most teams in div 7 last year with better fitness than what they had and that aint good for a side looking to get back in to div 5 !

i would'nt right off g/g just yet tho. they lost by about 8 or 9 goal what ever it was ( 16.8ish to about 7 or 8-10 ) but there 10 points they kicked were all getable goals and should've been kicked so had they kicked them at that stage who knows but yeah i'd still say both blackfriars and g/g are top 3 sides in div 6 .

oh by the way that is by far the best oval and set up i'v seen for a very long time !
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

GG didnt look anything special. A few of their younger guys pulled out of ontests at times. They should make the 5 tho. Blacks looked alot slicker but certainly beatable. Could be a very even comp if these 2 sides are the alleged yardstick of the competition.

Definately agree with the oval - it's money well spent! A good win by the boys, there's plenty of improving to be done but well deserved for a good pre seasons work!

Why do they have the benches on the opposite side of the oval to the rooms?

went and watched the game on friday nite. blackfriars looked good- moved the ball well, they will be the yardstick this yr. Golden grove lacked any decent forwards- don't look much beta than last yr.
I think west croydon were the biggest suprise of round 1- mite upset a few teams this yr??

I think CJ might agree but if Golden Grove are the yardstick in Div 6 then it will be another successfull season by them. Watched the game friday night and i honestly believe some of the teams from Div 7 last year were better than Grove. Friars played no where near there best and still won easily

I concur, half of Div 7 would have given Golden Grove a touch up friday night...Golden Grove lacked fitness and have no size about them credit to Blacks they exploited this.

Ashley Mitchell is an outstanding communicator but I feel he just doesn't have the cattle on the field to play with.

Blacks to dominate Div 6 easily....(fingers crossed for some other team to prove me wrong)

The Uni Blacks a to c grades lost heaps of players over summer. Only two players in the c grade from last year lined up on saturday - could be a long winter for them. However, the reserves (D's) still have all their old handy players playing.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Interesting to see theat Legrand kicked 9 in the Ds then chipped in for 5 in the cs! Fair effort! Good win for the Valley boys aswell. Probably shouldnt of let Westminster get that close but a wins a win.
