For the last 2 years I was a storeman/delivery driver for my company, but have since moved into a desk job position inside at the end of October last year.
Anyway, I get into work and get called into the GMs office. He hands me a letter from Suncorp Insurance. It says that on September 13 2011, the work truck was involved in an accident on the corner of West Street and West Terrace. Apparently the car that it "hit" needs a new rear bumper and both brake lights fixed.
Now I know that Ive never hit ANYTHING in the truck, and I obviously would of stopped if I had, and I would have reported it to the GM. We checked Google Maps to see where West Street was in the city, because I hadnt even heard of it, and it turns out it doesnt exist. Then the GM handed me my runsheet from that date. I started in Regency Park and headed north with stops between work and Gawler. Thus being AT LEAST 15kms (and up to 40kms) from the city all day.
This is the first we heard of it (5 months later)...no police report, not evidence I was there (in this made up place), no nothing. We have evidence I WASNT there, and theres been no damage to our vehicle at all...so they can suck it.
Me and the GM are laughing about it now, but if I didnt have that runsheet, it could of been much worse. The company would of had to fork out money, I would have got in shit for crashing the truck, then probably fired for not reporting it...THEN probably loss of licence for hit and run...
