Extra batsman? How about dropping a bowler. You have 8 med pacers. And then johnny.

We have batsmen that can bowl, better to safeguard ourselves in both disciplines. You previously stated that our bowling will struggle to take wickets and now you are saying we should get rid of a bowler? Wouldn't you think we'd need to have plenty of options if that was the case?

why do people always think you have to be quick to get wickets ?
simple game , bowl good line and length and you will always pick up a wicket.
the slower you bowl the more the batter has to think and move his feet.
medium pacers have always had success in all forms of cricket.

spot on smasha pace is overrated imho not that having good pace doesnt help sometimes but it goes to and over the fence quicker aswell....look at world cricket the 2 greatest wicket takers ever bowl spin.... good luck to everone picked im sure you guys will do well....

A big thankyou to those who have made themselves available and to John Ashworth for offering his services off field.
A bit more notice next year would be nice and not schedule a game when there's an ODI on in Adelaide could be beneficial. Good on the PDCA for allowing us to take a bus.

Champion Player ranking on the my cricket website. If thats the best avaliable players, that is a pretty good side that is also in a bit of form to. Always going to be hard when international cricket hits adelaide on the same day also. Good luck to all those selected, know all with give there all for the district.

Last time I looked, Wellington and Bedgegood were higher on the wicket taker list with 20 and 19 wickets respectively. Wellington with 20 wickets @ 12.

Def Rate Bedgegood as a spinner, from what ive faced off him this season, he is a good spin bowler. He is playing Imparja Cup isnt he?

Yes he is playing Imparja Cup and he has been bowling quite well over there. Would be good to see him in your Rep Side as a spinner aswell.

Bedgegood is not available and no i dont think you need a spinner if you have enough quality bowlers to get the job done.

I hate you OKC  but can only take wickets from players who they bowl too.. and he has largely bowled to the back half of sides after the top string bowlers have torn through the top orders of sides, hence the reason I rate Hanisch and Wellington and Anders as better spinners.

Hasn't been going amazing but is holding his own, figures of 1/24, 0/10, 3/23 & 0/16. Definately needs to lift his game though.

All 3 were unavailable, obtaining phone numbers isn't the easiest task in the world either, next season at least there can be some plans put in place around Novemeber/ December and all SAMCA components should demand playing dates before the break.

I didn't take it that way mate. Nothing wrong with highlighting some facts. There were calls to bring an unknown up from grade 3 who has a fair repertiore.

If only pg had facebook... seeing you post photos of "yourself "bowling might make him a better player....just curious, why not post them on the turf site aswell? Or is there a under 10s section for that..

Nick Marks (previously from ATCO) does a great job at that for us..

I think if either him or Leigh Harrison were still playing PDCA that they'd be in the side. Althought Leroy couldnt get a game for westies A grade towards the end

Willie Sewell should be in the senior side, open the bat, and then bowl his spinners?
