A lot of answers are needed. A wins a win, but only 3 players dug in with the bat inc Putland. Still very soft by the same players
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

Just got home.

That was crazy.

Amazing game, so up and down, what an absolute collapse by SA from 0/45. Losing 6/16, and then two more quick ones after a 20 odd run stand.

Cooper you legend! :D

Just got home from my own cricket training and WTF!!

Only the Redbacks could do that

Reading back over the CA commentary of the game and it could have been a very different story if Tom Cooper messed up those reverse sweeps. Put them away son when you are 8/100

VI 123[37.2]
SA 9/124 [35.2]

The bonus point is a very good innovation, except for this game
That SA could almost hash a simple chase and get the extra point is unworthy

QUIZ

Can someone please post the ladder with renaming fixtures. I can't be bothered but would be very grateful. :)

Callum ferguson said in his fiveAA interview that they needed to win just one match from two to make the final due to having 3 bouns points. Two wind gets a home final. Ladder goes like this I think SA, TAS, QLD, VIC don't remember the rest

TAS 22
QLD 17
VIC 13
NSW 12
WA 0

QLD V WA, FEB 11
TAS V QLD, FEB 15
VIC V SA, FEB 18
WA V NSW, FEB 22
FINAL, FEB 25

Good point mal, a bonus point is meant to be for when a team belts another, oh well, we'll take it.

But they did, in some way smash them - they cleaned them up cheap and then scored the runs in the allocated time (just lost lots of wickets).
I'd be happy to score a ton with five dropped chances and call it a scratchy one because if I have 100 runs, it's still 100 runs. Not that that's ever been a problem for me.

70% of the game was clinical performance from the SPUDs but 30% was terrible (6/16) UNtil Harris got out the Redbacks hadnt put a foot wrong. DW has summed up the deserved bonus point well

No one eats carp, it's too boney. It was good cricket, it was good bowling from both sides, good to see runs hard to come by for a change rather than a slog-fest.

And fantastic cricket by Cooper to get us home under pressure, I enjoyed watching it on fox and even more so that we got up, would of been gutted if we lost it after our bowling performance.

I'm a bit of a Coop's fan, especially after I called out to him in a T20 last year when he was fielding and he replied to me :D

It was a great game to be at. In its own strange Redback kind of way it was classic cricket and compulsive viewing. The day sent us on a roller coaster of emotions. At 8/83 we all looked at each other and muttered something along the lines of..."oh goodness gracious we now find ourselves in a cricarious position, we may have made some errors in judgement in our run chase" or words to that effect. Dont under estimate the role of Putts as he showed some ticker to hang around and we would not have won without him.

For all the criticism the Backs/Strikers cop on these forums (so much of it warranted) at least they have got themselves to a Final and can leave the year with a crack at some silverware. Not to many times in the last 15 years we have been in a position to do that. I hope if we get a home final that Adelaide gets behind them and we get some real home final atmosphere and can get 10,000. If the Strikers can get 15,000 for a dead rubber surely cricket fans will get around the Mighty Backs on Feb 25th if it is at the fortress known as Adelaide Oval

My final point is Spitonhairys or whatever his name is who played for the Strikers and yesterday the Bushrangers. He is the kind of cricketer you would really want....you really want to be playing for the opposition that is :)
