We used to get a similar effect as kids by tying steel wool onto a length of wire,heating the steel wool up and then whirling the wire around as in the photo.Sounds stupid but looks spectacular.

Haha, that's actually correct! That's exactly what it is.


about 3 foot of wire bent 90 degrees at each end at the 4 inch mark, one as a handle, and the other is where you thread the steel wool or steelo pad. Light it up so there are embers, then spin it around really fast. Doing it somewhere around the beach (as we did, that's at Wallaroo) is better, less things to damage!
