Thanks Hondo, love your work. He definetely struggled with spin and got found out, had a great eye though for the quicks. I suppose he was a bit of a spare parts player.

Was a pretty handy bowler too, used pretty sparingly though, his record wasn't too great in either discipline. His ODI record is less than flattering.

Theres pro's and cons for everything

Ponting;Pros- Best stats
- Still faced some very good bowling attacks and made runs (Eg- WI,RSA,Pakistan)
- Plays in a side where each time they play the whole world pumps themselves up
to knock them off
- It's not always easy coming in when you have been sitting in the sheds for ages.
- Batted on tracks where it was not just a batsmans paradise all the time and they
actually had a bit of character about them.
- Had help from Swiss and Advanced Hair on the way.

Tendulkar- Pressure of an entire country behind him.
- Faced some very good attacks and made runs around the world.
- Bats in arguably the harshest climate in world cricket.
- Faced Australia and probably along with Lara is the best player to face S.Warne.
- Bats in a variety of positions.
- Knows how to make a mean tandoori chicken

Lara- Had a major change over of players from when he first began
- Had some very impressive innings under pressure
- Made a 1st class 500 wtf!!
- Faced Australia but never faced Ambrose,Walsh,Bishop,Marshall. (Ponting never faced
Marshall either)
- Can dance up a storm, his wife is from Adelaide and I served her at work ;-)

For me Lara and Ponting number 1,i can't decide. Then Tendulkar. Btw Viv Richards was a better bat than Lara. How can a bloke face attacks like that and smash them everywhere with such ease.
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

1) Ponting - Fluent in all facets of the game, his pull shot and straight drives are simply magical, while his destructive batting in one day games was a catalyst in winning world cup after world cup.
2) Lara - Naturally gifted with the perfect temperament, Lara is the world record holder but simply didn't haul his team the way Ponting's batting does/did. Even when Lara scored 400 his side didn't win.
3) Tendulkar - Master of timing but there's not a lot that's flash about what Tendulkar does. He is a ball manipulator but at the end of the day, just like Lara, his batting never destroyed sides like Ponting's did.
