Ajmal needs just one more wicket for 100, in just his 19th test (only four players have done it faster...Lohmann, Turner, Barnes, Grimmett)

Nothing wrong with the pitch at all.
U R right tho in that the Poms simply played the spinners very poorly, Little or no intent to attack them and kept playing back instead of forward and also a lot of them got out playing across the line.
As much as i like Lyon as a spinner, i dont think he'll cause them the problems as the Pakistani spinners did.

It is a struggle to think of a loss that has hurt more than this," Strauss said. "It's bitterly disappointing to lose a game you should have won. These are the games that hurt the most, because you feel like you've done everything you can to win the game - and then you aren't able to nail the final nail in the coffin.

Aswell as some good bowling, we're starting to see more and more bowler friendly pictches, which is great for the game. I know I'm sick of seeing roads where teams bat for 2-3 days which decreases a result in the game greatly, it's crap, boring and ruins the enjoyment of watching cricket, I love watching batsman having to fight for every run.

Agree to a point re bowler friendly pitches but scores around 50 for sides that are supposed to have class batters, onbviously the roads we have seen for years brings out lack of technique i guess, plus the wham bam thankyou mam cricket we see as well these days, when it gets tough there appears to be alot lacking from the batting side

Agreed, 20/20 cricket have influeneced techniques quite heavily since it's creation, almost forcing batsman into a state of mind where they have to score quicker and quicker.

Going on with what said Locky the roads we've seen over the years may have made up for a lack of technique by a batsman and it seems when bowler friendly wickets are introduced and the going does gets tough, batsman are failing. So yes a lack technique in combination with a lack of exposure to bowler friendly wickets is possibly the big reason for some of these the low scores.
