International ambassador. One of the best in his field for a long period of time. Proudly Australian. Sounds like a great appointment and I am sure he appreciates it greatly.

Actually (to quote my daughter) you're in the profession that gets paid to say what is written. If its not what you feel or agree with, then you're an actor..... That's actually what you are

Yes, good on him.

Loving the good about our country (and there's more good than most countries can say), but acknowledging the not-so-good isn't 'un-Australian', it's honest and realistic.

I respect that more than blind adherence to the notion that we're perfect and can't be criticised.

It's not that I think we are perfect, it's more that today is not the day.

Today is the day that we celebrate how damn good it is to be an Australian.

Today is the day we eat lamb, drink beer, go to the beach, wear the flag on our body.

And be proud to be a damn Aussie.

Mr Rush can tell us our faults for the next 364 days, but today he can bugger off!

Aussie Aussie Aussie!

Don't care where you go mate, either unconditionally love this country with an outward display of submissiveness and servitude or get the next boat outta here.
