It's 2/44 here in Lincoln, and judging by the reactions on SAFOOTY.NET, I must be live...

Dunno ask his Father and S Waugh when they got picked?

Funny how one expert on here wants to pick his brother when he has a first class average of 22 and has barely scored a 1000 runs in his career

Marsh's first class average is 33 % better than Christians.

The fact is we have NO top order batsmen around the country putting their hand up to replace him, irrespective of the BBL being played isntead of real cricket.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Why do people keep saying this? Am I the only one who thinks that Klinger fits the category of a 'top order batsman' and 'in-form'...

Average vs Current form. I'm an advocate for DC because he is the closest thing we have to Watto atm.

Klinger has earned a shot as much as Cowan did, top run scorer 2 out of the past 3 years, and a chance to make it 3 from 4. I haven't once said bring in Mitchell marsh or DC.

At least S Marsh was scoring a test century and 50s at the same time Khawaja was making double figures and the occasional 50.

lets compare apples with apples (BBL form) I reckon S Marsh has Klinger covered there and as above when Klinger was making the 1st class 50s, S marsh was makeing test 50s.

Don't neccessarily disagree with that point but given teh lack of first class cricket played christian hasn't had a chance to push for selection. No doubt if Watson was fit for this test, S marsh would be playing for the Scorchers this week. Christian ain't no Watto though.

I know you didn't mention M Marsh, but if you look at Cowan he has been playing first class cricket six years less than Klinger and has scored only 900 runs less than him and he averages in the 40s where as klinger still averages in the 30s. Once again Cowan has the form over Klinger.

Look if this was 2001-02 not 2012-12, Marsh would have been torpedoed two tests ago if he was an incumbent test player (fair arguement he wouldn't even have been picked 10 years ago though), we simply do not have the batsmen putting their hands up to replace him.

In the last 12 months we've sorted out the bowling and the middle order, to win back the Ashes we need to sort out the top order and the 'keeping spot.
