Heard about another couple of recruits signing on with the Vikings today - one is related to a returning B&F winner and the other has played SANFL and been playing in the mid north

Kieren Johanson who played at Pirie Bulldogs last year? If so would be a good pickup.

Sorry all, but the second string comment was mine and related to players the Vikings have supposedly lost to a amatuer league club. Yes they have, but mainly "second string" and juniors.  Believe Sugg has gone to Ironbank. Very dissappointing for Valleys I would reckon.

It is the great mans 30th this weekend so we shall ask him then! When last i spoke to him he was planning on commuting back for Valleys games, not sure if anything has changed tho.

Emus had our first pre season trainings this week, some solid sessions from the new coach with some good quality numbers so far. No new faces (as usual) yet but thankfully no losses so far either.

I think teams will be struggling to get any top shelf recruits, the comp doesn't really offer much $$ and is not really In a good state ATM IMO ??

So he must have signed because he likes the look of the Oval, the colour of the jumpers and the car parking facilities.

Heard this morning he's signed for the Twisties.

Makes it easy for him to get to games as he lives just around the corner from the Oval....

Good get by Morphys.

Talbot and Longman? Obviously loyalty isn't a strong point for these blokes! Based on my knowledge (which is limited) they don't seem to have too many problems moving from club to club on a yearly basis!

Talbot: PHOS, Aldinga, PHOS, Bridgewater, Aldinga now Morphy Parks? (Fair record the past 6 years!!)
Longman: Morphy Parks, Bridgewater, Aldinga and now back to Morphy Parks.

I don't understand how clubs can recruits these types of blokes when looking at their records, it's more than likely they'll piss off after the season. And how Longman continually gets paid for a kick is beyond me, not worth a cent!

I agree specky, the whole thing of the extra points last season was all about changing the culture and recruiting the players that will stick around for the right reasons. They seem to have lost recruits from last year and approaching one year fixes again.

Recruits lost from last season = 0 so far.

Seb was initially recruited in 2009 – and has only gone because a $4K sign on and $1300 a game was simply too much to resist.

All A-grade players from last year (apart from Seb) have signed on for 2012, so they’re all worth 1 point less, hence the room to top us with a few new players. So not sure what you’re on about here Asert????

Perhaps you should do some more homework on how the points system works?
