If he keeps a low profile, then a percentage will say he is unapproachable or not keeping in touch with members/fans.

If he makes himself available to supporters, then a percentage say he is wasting his time in exchanges.

For what its worth, if he chooses to answer questions posed from members and fans, that can't be a bad thing for the club and fans, and reduces the risk of misinformation and rumours on issues, IMHO.

that's not what I posted about. I don't care if he goes online, he needs to now, to pacify the supporters who now think he has his priorities wrong.

You two realise that every side in the AFL would beat any SANFL by at least 10 goals.

Ummm better standard of footy...

who cares? We love The SANFL, that's why we go, to watch The SANFL. If we loved the AFL, we wouldn't be members of Our respective SANFL clubs, we would go and watch the AFL. Simple, got it? And FWIW, I LOVE MY CASSETTES!!

DRINKERS aged 18-35 would have their own bar under a Redlegs’ vision to attract younger fans.

Norwood Football Club chief executive officer Bill Leane said the club was considering “a young professionals bar” to boost membership.

“We have to dare to be different,” Mr Leane said.

Other ideas to enhance match-day entertainment were being discussed but he would not elaborate.

Mr Leane has targeted home crowds of 10,000 and increasing membership from 3500 to 4500.

“On-field success is we continue to develop players to go into the AFL system and get drafted, we have good success in our juniors and… we can look at the Norwood Football Club family and say we’re well connected and there’s a lot of joy,” he said.

Mr Leane aims to meet with Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Council to discuss his vision.

Only problem is that this is illegal. They may wish to perhaps target an age group via marketing.

Rest is very positive and certainly ambitious.

Why would he do that ?

I'm surprised that the CEO is using a forum to spread his messages. I would think fan based forums over the years have been a real headache for club executives.

Hey, he might be ground breaking and leading a revolution.

I doubt it myself, but we'll see I guess.

You admin people should get Bill on here (or is that hear...) to have a chat. Make sure he opens his mind to what the rest of us are thinking! You've got to wonder how he is getting on with Nathan???

I see what he is trying to do but maybe leave the comments to the marketing people .

Not sure I'd be too happy with the volume he has posted , setting himself up IMO. The Dave Warner of forums. ;)

So a CEO types out his vision for his footy club on a forum and people question his form of communication? He has not given out anything that should raise eyebrows, he is getting on the front foot as anyone would in a new position. He in fact is no different to any of us in that he is passionate about our great competition, the SANFL. Welcome Bill.

Whilst the Coopers is great Centrals flares and riots creates much more interest. ;)

These ideas remind me of the brand new plans for Adelaide I see on the front page of the Advertiser every month that never happen. Hopefully its not though.

I hope this fella stays at Norwood for a long time, with some of those thoughts. At least they'll be able to say "were well connected and there's a lot of joy" what the?
I like the fact he addresses a supporters concern on a forum, I just hope Granty never does it. At least in his "answer" he didn't say he was misquoted.
Hopefully, Norwood can continue to develop players for the afl. Good on them. Its great for carlton, freo etc that draft these guys. I can't recall if in the recent afl commissioned study, they were in the top ten of clubs that develop afl talent. Not that personally, I see it as important. I guess with limited success over the last twenty years you have to focus on perceived positives.
I do agree things have to be tried, and nothing wrong with trying to increase interest in the sanfl.

Centurian, I can tell you catagorically no one at Norwood is stopping us playing night games against Centrals at the Parade, think you should focus on the SANFL, Police and the then sercurity people who recommended (a long time ago now) to stop them happening.

You will recall it was our young lads who started the last fracus, they were caught by Police and the club still has bans in place against them, how many times have we played each other since in the day without further incident. The last game at Elizabeth was played with plenty of fire and passion on both sides of the boundary, but no problems with crowd behaviour that I saw anyway. The day was a great spectacle and very much enjoyed by this little black duck, at least except for the end result

Perhaps being progressive is getting the 2 CEO's together to thrash it out and resolve it for the betterment of our clubs and the SANFL.

I think it leaves a blot on the history pages of the SANFL that should be best wiped out.

Cheers,

Or he could just continually re- join under a new name, which should be familiar to you GD.
