We treat Chad like shit this year while moving towards a youth policy and if we recruit Davis I'll be pissed.

But chad previously struggled to get a kick vs a bloke coming off an all australian year

Very excited and happy with our off season movements and changes at the moment! New faces around the place, brighten things up a bit and i wouldn't mind us picking up Leon, obviously for his football ability and also a "marketing" sort of thing i suppose, few of the younger kids and that think hes a genuine superstar and to get someone like that our gurnsey would be great for the club. Show everyone that players are willing to cross to us!

I agree re: Neon Leon.

On one hand I see us as sacrificing youth development and giving a star player like Chad a big kick in the guts (from Booney).

On the other hand, he could be handy in helping develop the youth and maybe to win some games, which although not completely important to development, is vitally important to the survival and well-being of the club.

Time will tell!

What we expecting out of our two recruits Brett Renouf and Brad Ebert?

Im not expecting huge changes really, think they will no doubt improve our side and make us more competitive and bring those floggings right down but give Brad Ebert some time over the next couple of years i am excited to see him and Boak working together in that midfield.

Renouf i think, is there until we develop someone better or find someone better, but will be our number 1 ruck for the time being.

Im assuming you have had a chance to get down to a training session boon?

How is the rest of the squad looking, any standouts from the young lads?

Yep, sure have.

Carlile was one I was happy with. Wingard looks ready to go, Cornes has put some weight on and looks more suited to the modern day in-and-under role than he has been, Lobbe looked fit..will recall others as the day goes on.

Schulz seems bigger than last year too.

The post season and pre season training has been as good as we could have hoped for taking into account the trading period, drafts. Lack of major sponsor(s) is an issue, but hopefully its resolved soon.

Judging by some training pics I've seen the majority of the squad look to be in a better condition than previous pre seasons.

Good news!

Whats the go with training sessions for supporters, are their select sessions you are allowed into?

I have some AL coming up in the next few weeks and was thinking of going out and having a look.

Very rarely are the sessions closed during the week mate. Have a look at the website and they have a training times schedule on there. You can just walk in, take a seat and watch.

I'd suggest taking a pen and paper to write / draw some sketches of the drills to gove your club / coaches some ideas. Some are pretty complex, others you could pick up and take away with you.

Give me a yell when your thinking about heading down and I'll try and get there.

Lobbe sidelined for 3 months, not ideal especially with some doubts on the fitness of Renouf.

If Redden gets injured we'll probably have Phillips rucking in the NAB Cup.

Not great for Lobbes, 2nd pre-season in a row where he has been set back due to injury.

Massive chance here for Jarrad Redden to show his stuff, at 205cm and 103kgs you would think he has the body size to compete, and with a solid league season with WWT last year i reckon he is ready to take that next step.

A great Q&A with CEO Keith Thomas from the PAFC website:

http://www.portadelaidefc.com.au/news/n ... fault.aspx

Im really liking what Keith is doing for port. His interaction with members is 2nd to none and its great to feel valued as a member. I also feel he is working hard to eradicate the "us vs them" mentality which will hopefully generate further members to hop on board. His respect for the history of the PAFC is high and its about creating a new brand which is great to see.
