This is the way I see things at the moment in our Div. A lot of this is based on the discussion on this forum and we all know how truthful some of this can be! It's still such a long way out from the season and things can change a fair bit in the next 3 months as we all know.
Adelaide Uni - who knows really? They have such a huge base of players to choose from and these players don't always play in grade that they should. A number of their players could play higher if they wanted to. One thing I think we can all agree on is that they are always competitive.
BOS - Played some great footy last season and when they played us the movement of the footy when they spread from a contested situation was very good. If, and it's only a rumour I believe, the Hillman boys don't play as well as Blunt and Demasi who have long term injuries it will bring them back to the field you would think.
Central United - A lot of rumours of heavy recruiting (thanks to Riddler). Bellman will be a great addition as they struggled a little in the ruck last season IMO. But they have lost arguably their best defender (Abdulla) and their leading goalkicker (Hall) and probably a handful of players back to Smithfield with Andy Stewart (but I don't think it will be any of their key players) so will have to wait and see who else Dutchy has brought to the club.
Col Light - Not much has been mentioned about them. BFG and Zed have kept things close to their chest. They certainly improved towards the end of last season after a big turnover in players last year. All depends if they can keep the key players from last years group and add a couple more quality players.
Houghton - Once again not much has been mentioned about recruiting. Generally play well at home but seem to struggle away. Liam Davis is a key to this team and if he doesn't play they could find things tough.
Ingle Farm - All depends on the standard of their recruits and how well they gel together. Would have to improve on their last few years you would think but they have lost Tremain an Moore (2 of their better players from last year). Malbunka up forward has proved a handful for some teams and would be interesting if this journeyman has decided to stay at the club.
Lockleys - obviously struggled in Div 5 after going up due to the loss of their 3 best players in Williams, Mickan and Corbett. Rumours of a few going to Flinders Park perhaps. But a new coach with some new recruits could see them go okay.
Mawson Lakes - From what I saw in the GF, they have some very handy players in the middle of the ground and some good forward options which it appears they have added to so you would expect them to be very competitive.
TOS - We have lost a couple of A graders but got a couple of past A graders back to the club. Hopefully with our top players being able to get on the park more regularly this season we will be able to improve on last year.
Woodville South - 8 wins in Div 5 and getting relegated is as tough as it gets. If they can almost play finals in Div 5 then you would have to say they appear to be the ones to catch. The recruitment of Stubberfield (ex-West Croydon) will cause some anxious moments for defenders. But is their as much difference between Div 5 and Div 6 as most people think? A number of Div 6 GF teams have moved through Div 5 fairly quickly in the last 5 years which would suggest that the gap between these divisions may not be that big. I could be wrong (and probably am)!
