I dont get the facination with Tim Paine

Paine- 27 years old, averages 31.62 at first class level, has only hit 1-100 in 84 innings, in ODI only averages 29.48

Wade- 24 years old, averages 40.16 at first class level, has hit 4-100's in 74 innings,

I'm not a Haddin fan, but I think the selectors have Paine marked as a long-term prospect and that might save Haddin to survive until then.

Lyon has to be in the 12. Melbourne was a pace bowlers' pitch.

Paine is out for the rest of the season after more finger surgery

Everyone keeps going on about the SCG taking spin. Thats the old SCG, have noticed the last couple if years they have really juiced it up, only have to look at most games there this year, the quicks have done most of the damage, spinners have claimed stuff all there this year. One of the reason NSW has produced so many young quicks, they have a favourable deck to bowl on. Wouldnt be suprised to ser a deck similar to Hobart produced for next test. The Indian's are in for a rude shock if they are hoping for a spin friendly pitch

Yes, I know, but I think they'll wait, unless Haddin keeps stuffing up.

Agree, i dont think he should have came back into the side BUT

who is performing well enough to take his spot?

imho he will be better for the run.

Finding someone to perform better than a bloke who makes three runs in two innings would be a difficult task i guess.

He will be better for the run because how could he possibly get worse? The guy is a dead set dud.

Amazing to win, I had us down and out yesterday evening...

Was thinking Ponting, Siddle or my man Hilfy to get MOTM, but Pattinson certainly did a job, the third best bowler, but unbeaten with two handy efforts when he batted.

If the top order shows half the endeavour and success of the Siddle/Pattinson type innings, then we will pants them in Sydney as well.

Warner and Cowan to hold their spots at the top.
Ponting to three
Clarke to four
Hussey to five
Dan Christian in to debut at six
Haddin stays at seven
Siddle, Pattinson and Hilfenhaus to cover 8-10
Probably keep Lyon in, purely because it's Sydney, if he fails again, probably send another quick in. Harris should be fit.

Shaun Marsh is quality, but he was purely not up to task.

Great win, but dont worry the indian batsmen will be back with avengence of some of the more flatter pitches. You watch if Sydney plays fairly flat then Laxman will score runs. He looked like he was back in England yesterday with no idea. But as we know he is King of the flat track bullies!

I reckon we will keep the same team for Sydney.
From the Bowlers I would keep the same, only Lyon didnt take many wickets, but really in the 1st dig he probably should of had Sehwag with the 3 card trick, and in the 2nd he didnt bowl a heck of a lot.

Batsment wise, well S.Marsh is underdone and needs some first class games not T20's to find his feet. I Still think Khawaja would be better valve at the moment, but I cant see there been any changes in the side.

It's a lesson in that while you need to look to the future you need to balance it with the present so you remain competitive. Had we culled Hussey and Punter we'd probably be 0-1 down.

Lyon will gain valuable experience bowling to the Indians so should never be dropped. Like someone else posted, if Warne struggled then who wont?

No changes to a winning side, and i'm hoping the Sydney deck will be similar to the way MCG played.
