Well,he played attacking shots in SA and got out that way too. It's the fact that he is not getting himself in, getting to 20 and then looking to move fwd from there, it's old school advice but its what the Aussies bats need to do. His head is so far up his ass from commercials etc he needs a good smack from rod marsh!

Let him bugga off to the ipl so we can get a real test cricketer in his place.

Well we need at least another 50 tomorrow to have some sort of shot of containing the indians.

Would have like to have a lead at around 300+ plus but you need to take what you have some days.

Hinesight is a wonderful thing but clearly Marsh was underdone and should never have been thrown straight into test match cricket. Hopefully the selectors learn their lesson and dont mistake playing T20 as good preparation for a test match.

Personally i think we need to get a lead over 275 maybe even 300. The pitch is doing a bit but a bloke like Sehwag can take the game away from you in ten overs and Tendulkar is champion who would love this stage.

Haddin is another who would benefit from Sheffield Shield cricket, imho he needs to go back and find some form and some confidence in what style he is going to bat. Wade is in great form and is ripe to go, time to give him a crack.

No Sheffield Shield cricket during Decemeber is going to have a huge impact on Australian cricket!

Spot on.
Posted it before, Khawaja and Hughes should be peeling off runs at shield level not sitting around idle or playing gimmick matches.

IF Brad rang me up for advice this is what I would tell him

'' Brad you wont ever be a good to very good keeper.""
''What you can still be is a magnificent batsman , like you were not so long ago."'
'' I advise you to do what works best, play your shots, and hit the cover off the ball.""
'' That means dont listen to anyone from now on, just remember my advice.""
'' And bat like that as of NOW b4 its too late, there is a little Victorian keeper, who is better than you at the minute.""

PS
I did read the posts after he got out
My question is did it really matter what shot he played ?
He would have copped it

The scary part is with Watson ruling himself out for the Sydney test if the selectors do decide Marsh is underdone they have to go back to Khawaja or Hughes who have done absolutly nothing to re earn selection.

Outside of those two who could they realistically call up based on current form. Its like a maiden in horse racing!

I would take Hughes at the moment. Khawaja is playing T20 where as Hughes has employed specialist coaches and by reports ive heard he is spending long hours each day in the nets. I like that he has declined T20 so he can work on his flaws

Really?

Where do you think he would bat at 6 or 7. As already has been said what sort of form would he becoming in with, especially considering he doesnt even bat in his top 4 in his T20 side.

We are really lacking batsmen who can spend extended periods at the crease dont think Christian would help the batting line up.

Would love to see him play but think if Marsh is out we need an out and out top 4 type batter in.

He's the only other batsman that the selectors have had faith in to select.

he has batted at 5 for SA. But he will bat at 6 for the Aussies, but unless Marsh is sore from this match he will play.

He cant bat at 6
Ponting will struggle at 3 and Clarke has a poor record at 4.
No 3 is the most crucial spot in the lineup, we need to sort it out ASAP

Only an opinion.
Hilfy bowled well, already praised him. He will keep a spot now until Cummins returns.
I did actually think Siddle was the pick of the bowlers but Hilfy did a great job.

If Marsh goes out, is there an issue with the current number four going up to first drop?

Ricky Thomas Ponting? I hear he used to make a living batting at three.
