Did Wayne Phillips keep in a few Test matches or was it just ODIs ?

His keeping has never been top quality but seems to be getting worse

And we have a guy like Wade who is a far better keeper and easily as good with the bat not getting a game.

Time off with a serious back injury, and the only lead up to the biggest test on the calender is a stupid mickey mouse T20 game a couple of days prior?! WTF!!

Has T20 seriously become the form guide for Australias best cricketers??

Yes. That's how Warner got a call-up.

Only on page 23- Warner, Cummins and Lyon...

Brad Haddin
The more he tries to bat like a batsman the worse he will get
The more he tries to keep like a keeper the worse he will get

IF Brad rang me up for advice this is what I would tell him

'' Brad you wont ever be a good to very good keeper.""
''What you can still be is a magnificent batsman , like you were not so long ago."'
'' I advise you to do what works best, play your shots, and hit the cover off the ball.""
'' That means dont listen to anyone from now on, just remember my advice.""
'' And bat like that as of NOW b4 its too late, there is a little Victorian keeper, who is better than you at the minute.""

PS
I did read the posts after he got out
My question is did it really matter what shot he played ?
He would have copped it
Just for the record it was a defensive prod , push or whatever
12 months ago it was often a full blooded slash or cut
And thats my point he needs to be his old aggressive self, not this sensible batsman they are trying to create or want

I'd give him the following advice:

Give it away. You can't keep and whilst you are a handy bat it doesn't make up for your inadequacies as a keeper. Play your T20 nonsense and make money and leave the real cricket to real cricketers.

The big problem is that although Matthew Wade is in form, CA has publicly backed Tim Paine to be the next Test keeper, and indeed Captain.

They cannot afford Wade to come in and do so well that they cannot eventually put Paine in.

Then they have no FTC...

Haddin has to spud through Paine's injuries, when Paine is fit, look for the pressure to mount...
