1st Test V India starting Boxing Day

Two days of the first test match, and Australia are still 120 runs in front. Reading some posts you would think we are gone already.

We are well and truly still in it. The first hour this morning is critical, if we pinch a couple early we could roll through them and even lead but if we dont take a wicket in the first hour India should be able to build a decent lead.

333 was always defendable- the partnership of Haddin & Siddle the key difference between the sides.
Yes, the mood could be quite different if Dravid & Tendulkar where still in & scoring, but they are not.
Some questionable Captaincy by Clarke, or some brilliance (re: the bowling changes- Lyon coming on for 3 overs, then back to Hilfenhaus)?

Given the frequency of his questionable captaincy paying off, I'm hopeful that someone might give him some credit one day. He's put his own style to it and it's quite impressive, IMO.

Personally dont like giving the number 9 easy singles.

Yes cover his boundary shots ala fine leg, deep square leg, third man but dont like to see cover and point all on the boundary, he is just as likely to get out trying to play shots as the number 11 batsmen is.

Was almost bowled in a similar fashion in the 1st innings, looks to leave balls on a very tight line.

Therefore if it was given not out, India challenge, it would stay not out. (if drs was in use).

But it reckons it was actually hitting, (red zone), so if given not out, would have been over turned.
