A two minute job becomes a two (maybe more) day event because it is going from Telstra to Optus.
It goes through a completely different section of Indian Phone World, because I am keeping the same number and changing networks.
Was supposed to be done today, but when I call the Optus guy, he says my progress has stalled because my date of birth does not match Telstra records.
My date of birth has stayed the same my whole life, and I give it to people without thinking, I don't try and be funny about it, and certainly filling out forms or talking to phone company Indians I am very specific.
So anyway, I call Telstra, and they tell me that the date of birth they have for me is 23/7/87... Lo and behold, this is correct.
So Optus have my correct date of birth, and so do Telstra, but Optus are saying that Telstra has a different date!!!!!
What do I do???

My own bad money management saw a number of people chasing me for money around a year ago, and a workmate bought me a new SIM with a new number, so they couldn't chase me.
Got in touch with all these guys, sorted all the money out, and have generally been sorted out dollars-wise for about six months, and never thought about it again...
Trying to change the SIM over to optus, they had me ring Telstra, and it wasn't in my name, it was in the work mates...
Easy enough, new Optus number, and MP feeling like a dickhead.
