The Crows had enough money to employ a full time person to manage their leadership program..

If Collingwood has a nasal hair & presentation coach, then he isn't earning his salary.

How would you know ol' voracious observer of all things AFL.... :D ;)
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If true, it would mean that any team who finishes in the top 5 (not just the premiers, and occasionally grand finalists, as in the past) is a chance of not getting a pick.

Can anyone confirm?

There was one rule modification made to the mini-draft once the whole "One Port" came into effect. Whilst the Magpies are still involved in the mini-draft, they can now only choose players aligned to the Power. The other eight SANFL clubs can choose either Crows or Power players.

I believe what this means is that if it is the Magpies' turn to choose a player and there are only Crows players remaining in the mini-draft, they have to pass on their pick.

Poor Ol' Magpies .... hitched their star to a falling star ...a DUD !!!!!!!!!!
I feel a sense of sadness that such a once proud and successfull club will altimately disappear when the Power fails.
Will miss them in a few years.

"Power fails", LOL good one. Haven't heard that before. With creative metaphors like that, you should be an editor writing newspaper headlines SDK.

Holden 78s Xmas Rant ( Joke ) ..... We really cant go past one of our old favourites though it must be said Neil C not being around just doesnt feel right , but the new " boy " Sandybum " shows real promise to provide many years of laughter for all but the blind lollypop loopies . The Crows ie. Harper , with too much time on their hands I guess , are continuing to explore all avenues towards a side in the SANFL says the Coach ! At the same time Crows fitness boss Schwert talks pre season up as is his job , but says theres a real focus on the mental side now . Its about challenging the younger players , taking them out of their comfort zone and pushing them past what may be the obvious level etc. HELLO .... HYPOCRITES , what do you think happens when they go back to play SANFL and are put in at one of maybe two or three different positions on any given week , asked to play a role within a different game style by someone with a different agenda . Slower ball movement , lower skill level and more one on one battles are what await these lads and the ones that excell will be the guys who play AFL for most of their careers . Instead of talking Crap and making excuses , many like us believe top Victorian clubs would love to have a cut throat uncorrupted league to throw their lads into but have instead had to manufacture the next best thing due to the power of AFL . Look past the lazy sa media hype , the Crows and Port have been making excuses for years now and the SANFL is another easy target to hide behind ! P-ss Off and leave us alone ...... until you need a hand out heh !

Because with a list of 45 + rookies and the AFL side taking 22 players each week, factoring in injuries, at least 4-6, there isnt enough players available.

Maybe the 38 coaches they have at each club could pull on the boots and fill the gaps?

Might do some of them good, after a season they could get into size 46 shorts.

Carr, Edwards and in particular Primus look fitter than a few blokes getting around in the SANFL in recent years (Lokan anyone). They would still give them a run.

I can't wait for Michael Angel O Rucci's interview with ports debt. Should be interesting. ;)
