Gee i hope they dont line up like that Booney.
Christian aint no number 3, wont see out an over. As for his bowling, pedestrian at best. Really worried if Marsh doesnt play and Hilfy does, looks very light on batting. Very long tail.
The selectors are morons. Its our batting that is our problem so just bring in another bowler, weak as piss CA

Now that teams have been named I think they'll line up like this:

Warner
Cowan
Marsh
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
Siddle
Pattinson
Hilfy or Starc
Lyon

I think the only way Christian will get a game is if Marsh isn't passed fit in which case Christo will come in at 6 and Ponting/Clarke/Hussey all move up one spot.
We are in some strife if Christian plays as a third seamer, his ideal role will be to play as a batter and be the 4th seamer, similar to Watto (without Christian opening).
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

A certain legendary batsman is going to be possibly remembered as less than this because we took him to England as skipper two years ago. The writing was on the wall then.

MUST play
MARSH + CHRISTIAN

WHY ?
Becoz there have been 2 many 3-4 days Tests of late
The ACB is missing out on the revenue dollars
It makes sense that we will be in for a summer of flatter decks against the Indians [AGAIN]
There4 we need 5 bowlers
The last thing I wanna see is our front line bowling attack bowling 2 many overs this summer
So the 5th bowler is needed
Watto is injured
So Danny Christian, Mitch Marsh, and to a lesser extent Steve Smith + Moses HenREBiques must be used in between Watto breakdowns

Ed Cowan
Is simply not good enough to become a good Test batsman
But, of he plays, gets his chance against the mediocre Indian attack on Aussie soil
Had Ed played the last 2 series v SA + NZ he would have really struggled

Don't necessarily disagree but he has a better first class record than Marsh. 5 more hundreds in 10 less games not including his recent ton against the Indians (not considered a first class fixture). He's also earned his spot by making a truck load of runs in first class cricket this season forcing the selectors hand something Marsh has never done.

All our batsmen struggled last two series so that is a stupid point. It is also hard to say he wont make it when he hasn't played a game yet....the same thing was said about Warner know he is the great hope...

Christian is not half the bowler Watson is.

Surely Starc has to miss out which means Hilfy comes in.

Khawaja and Hughes are out of the squad, so Marsh is straight back in, and most likely Ed Cowan.

With that squad being named, I expect:

Warner
Cowan (short term prospect, not a Test cricketers arsehole)
Marsh
Ponting (farewell series)
Clarke
Hussey (farewell series)
Haddin
Siddle
Hilfenhaus (can do a certain job for a little while, not coming in as a long term player)
Pattinson
Lyon

12th Christian
13th Starc

Yeah, he probably does ring a bell on his pushbike with the basket on the front and streamers from the handlebars ;) , I feel that it's a redundant move but the options are a bit scarce atm, I hope he does well though, I don't dislike him, just a bit mundain and struggles to be dangerous once the ball is more than 15 overs old.
FWIW, here are the ones ahead of him in the pecking order IMO (in no particular order).
Cummins**
Pattinson
Siddle
Harris**
Johnson**
Cutting**
Starc (on par but obviously they wanna work with him)
Coullter-Nile
Herrick
Hogan
Faulkner

I can see why he'd come under consideration though, you know what you're getting and he would bowl well in tandem with either Pattinson, Lyon or Siddle.

They weren't convinced that he could get through two batting sessions, good move, I'd rather see him in their with his full repotoire, besides, when has he ever had injury concerns
