He was a crowd favourate and will be a big losss for north and the sanfl in general

That's a pity for North. He was one of the most exciting players to watch, particularly before he was listed with the Crows.

Can anyone from Norwood confirm if they will be looking at signing another 2 or 3 guys?

Although Norwood have lost a few in draft that are going interstate the thing that can also hurt them is they have a few on the crows and power lists that will be on the fringe. They wouldn't want to many of them playing AFL at once.

Gilly has been great for us, but the sun was setting on his career, rather than rising.

Confirmed tonight at the CDFC AGM by Kris Grant and Les Stevens that sadly for Dogs fans, Daniel Havelberg did get the teaching job in WA and will be an OUT for season 2012. A big loss and will be very hard to replace.

Kris Grant mentioned last night that Alan actually got an infection in the knee he had reconsstructed and is actually seeing specialists today to see whether he will need more surgery or if the infection has cleared up. If he gets the all clear, he should be ready to resume about early June.

The same article also mentions the Magpies have signed a lad from Sydney named James Brain.

He's a midfielder who was a top up player for Sydney Swan's reserves side last year and is currently playing in Darwin with Nightcliff.

Wouldn't have thought he'd be a good fit at Alberton. How many Brains are there now at the Maggies?

His talent can't be questioned. Very good footballer but didn't seem to want to be here last year. Maybe a change of teams could do him good. Thought he was going overseas anyway.
