That's a massive call but I hope you're right.

He'll fit right in with Bass and the other former BBers at Noarlunga...

Norwood. Will be lucky to get a game out of him, just like Rodan all over again.

North and Port can now play for a meat tray and the Butcher Cup.

Renouf a little injury prone, could be on the comeback trail through the SANFL from time to time.

Lobbe is, and deserves to have, Ports #1 ruck spot at the start of 2012.

With Trengove and Westhoff as back up ruckmen ( forward and back ) and with most sides reluctant to play 2 full time ruckmen, Renouf could see some SANFL action, quite a bit, in fact.

You have plenty of smaller young men around The Parade, why dent their confidence by taking another small kid when you could get perhaps 10 league games out of an AFL premiership ruckman, or, 15 reserves games out of a kid?

Shrewd move by the 'Legs.

Little bit surprised Crouch didn't go 1 or 2. Westies lucked out there. Also surprised that Port didn't go after Butcher. Is ahchee any relation to former Magpie Corey Ahchee?

Sturt did really well with the pick ups of Jenkins and Kerridge.

They would have been surprised Kerridge was still there, unless the Crows think he'll slot stright in.

That's certainly a possibility. I was very surprised to see him go that low and a little disappointed the eags didn't grab him when he was still there.

Don't think the Eagles were that intense for the draft - got too many AFL listed players already. Tried to pick their Seconds team the other day and had trouble fitting Batley and Crows rookie listed Martyn. Chose McCarthy because they know he is unlikely to be available and left Kerridge.

Didn't the Eagles reserves finish nearly bottom this year and have then lost Corbett and Symmons and Geddes? Maybe some rose colored glasses about the ability of some players?

Considering you had the 3rd to last pick, you didn't have much option.

Think your slightly/just off the mark there Premiers re the rookie draft .Seeing we finished top wasn't going to be to much left for the eagles to select.

Mickyl,
Which player is more likely to be available to the Eagles? Kerridge or McCarthy? Both were available to the Eagles. McCarthy would be a walk-up start for the Power compared to young Kerridge for the Crows - Eagles took McCarthy. THAT was the point I was making.
If Salter is available 3rd Tall for the Eagles, Fitzgerald misses out. If Paul Stewart plays as the running HB, Raymond unluckily gets pushed out; if Thompson plays BP, Tiller loses out and then with a midfield of Powell, Ciccollela, Shirley, Rowntree, Lewis, Sumner, Eddy and pinch hitters Kane, Goldsworthy, Almond, who's going to miss out. Hence, a pretty good looking 2012 Seconds team.
Again, good reason to pick McCarthy who they won't see much of instead of Kerridge. Otherwise, Seconds players like Rayner, Batley, Lane might as well quit and get a game elsewhere.

Surely McCarthy/kerridge would of been more value to the legs than renouf.
