Played 2 ball Ambrose at Murray Bridge last Sunday...

Well MatteeG was very pleased his partner was hitting it well, same couldnt be said for me! Tried the bright yellow vision for about 10-11 holes. Hit one in the water on the 6th  and just could not get any touch with it! Seemed a bit hard, and didnt get great distance with it either. VERY easy to see though!

Had a continual 'strong draw' which would have had me in deep strife if I was playing stroke.

We came in with a 5 over score off the stick (VERY average), yet with our handicap (7) we snuck in to win by 0.25!

Course in good nick as usual. Definitely an underated course IMO.

Thats me done for 2011 unless I get a game in the week between xmas and new year which is unlikely as Mrs G is working a few shifts through this time. Jr G is still a bit small to carry the bag.

First game for 2012 at South Lakes on Jan 8th. Cant wait.

Seen a bit of talk about these balls on here over the last few weeks so i thought i would give 1 a run, i found it was huge off the tea adding 10+ metres on my driver but was horrific for the short game just couldnt get the ball to stop anywere near were it should have leaving me far longer puts than should have been and at times running through the greens. put it away after the 6th hole as i was getting far to frustrated

Yes, 250m straight up heartbreak hill, played there once and didnt use an iron any shorter than an 8 for the whole round.

another good consistent round, fairly happy with how im hitting them now, still a few loose shots every now and then.

nothing better when you catch up to a group on the tee and play thru and drive the ball straight down the guts

Ambrose comp with a group of 12. Only in Darwin. Took 3 and a half hours to finish 9 holes. Had a young chick drive a drinks cart around with us. Me and my partner par'd every hole except the last and finished 3rd. I hit nearly every shot out of the middle, and all went 10 feet long. I even landed one in the middle of a group of "locals" who were under a tree behind the 2nd.

Played Willunga today with my new Irons i got for xmas. Bought the Adams A4 Idea Tech Irons.

Course played well, fairways were in good nick and the greens rolled true and were a good speed. Only the 3rd round I've played since ive decided to get back into golf so looking forward to having a hit at Grange on Thursday.

Also anyone got any thoughts on the course at Wirrina? Im heading down there for new years and was contemplating having a hit there.

Played lady bay a few weeks ago and was not impressed. fairways were yellow very hard and seemed dead. greens were fine and hard as well. Played McCraken last friday and the course was in good nick. greens a touch spongey but were good to put on and true. Hopefully lady bay leave the sprinklers on for a few days to fix it up a touch.
