Can,t remember all the players but the team was something like this A Duffield(C) C Patterson(rather nippy)...Peter Allen & M Henderson(wicket keeper..lol) (and when he batted in those days he used the same pad’s, that’s old school) couple of Siberly,s from pongy and R Hutchinson(he was average...) S Magor from yank and sorry to the others i have forgot!!
In the second game at Murray Bridge chasing just over a 100 runs Paddy(P. Allen) and Num opening the batting putting on just under 100 for the opening wicket, but not before both got hit in the head!!! Num who in those days at 17yrs waz ..’pulling everything’.. took on their opening bowler but got through the shot to early and got smashed in the back of the head, he waz wearing a helmet which waz smashed and split from the centre all the way down to the back(the helmet had no visor just the old A. Border little ear guards)!! What SOME people found funny is that the opposition had the audacity to appeal for L.B.W.....!!!!!
Anyway Paddy when the partnership got close to 100 was coming back for a quick...second(anyone remember Paddy?) he wazn,t the fittest bloke...well he got smashed in the face by the ball thrown in from the boundary, it waz nasty massive cut swelling blood everywhere serious stuff!!! So he had to retire hurt..typical of an Enc Bay player.... woooooo!!!!!!!

I'm sure Hamish is trying hard in the nets to sort out his form problem

maybe his form problem stems from no longer having you patrolling behind the bowlers' arm on a Thursday as a walking sightscreen

BLOODS, while seb goldsmith is winning your batting aggregate can you please get off this website. all your spare time needs to be spent in the nets!!! not on the internet!!! please and thankyou!!!

anyway, onto more important things, good to see andy evans fianlly stepping up and grabbing games of cricket by the balls. leads the runs and the wickets for the comp at this stage. hope he keeps it up. has always had the talent, hope he now begins to deliver some big games and goolwa get a few W's on the board!!!!

he's pretty solid.....hahaha. having an extra hit to save an outright can sometimes work in your favour!

Good luck in week 2 lads!

Scores from the U21,s game Southern def Great Southern

After sending us into bat we made 9/142 after being in trouble at 6/64 before Rix(38) and Nairne (21) put on a 55 run partnership and got the team back into the game giving the bowlers something to work with. Ziggy(14) at the end went out and 'let the dog eat' mixed in with his special defensive strokes!!

Bowling was ok (bit too short of a full length consistantly) Moules 10overs 2/31, Genocky when he came on created chances finished up with 2/45 and Cox attacked the stumps and got 3/9 at the end. Southern 10/180

Thought the boys all got on with each other quite well and never gave up during the game, first with a fight back when batting and then by bowling Southern out without letting the game blow out. This still gives us a chance to make the final if we win well in the next game played in a fortnight,s time!!

Stay solid folks!!

Willunga accounted for Aldinga fairly easy... rolled them for 125 then chased them down with ease. Mick Barry with 50 odd not out got the job done!

encounter bay did it easy over rapid bay in round 2 of the 20/20 comp. made 170 odd batting first and then rapid made 110 in reply. highlight of the night was 5 consecutive boundaries in the second over of the rapid bay innings by deed-cole i think. the unlucky bowler jono ling.

Around the xmas break, pretty sure top 4 at the moment.
Aldinga, Elliot and Goolwa battling out the spoon and with Enc Bay, Willunga, McLaren and Compass being the likely finalists at the moment....

In the 20/20 Comp looks to be a Elliot, Encounter Bay, McLaren and Willunga Finals series
Good bit of fun, but on a wednesday night poor form by the league, surely a more appropriate night such as a Friday night or a Sunday should be allocated for this.

merry Xmas Sa footy Peeps!!
