Yeah, he's been going alright this season, scoring runs at 7 or 8. Has batted in every spot in the past.

There are, we struggle to get 3 or 4 of them firing in the same innings consistently though. Evereyone in our A grade side except for the number 11 has opened the batting for the A's at some stage, not just in 2nd digs either.
We always feel that we still have a sniff even when we're 8 or 9 down.

Ok guys put your selectors hats on and pick your PDCA best XI.
Here's mine.

W. Sewell
A. Parkhouse (wk)
A. Ozolins (c)
A. Carman
R. Hannun
J. Davies
J. Hanisch
R. Figallo
J. Carman
M. Picton
A. Seccafien

I've probably missed a heap of gun players but off the top of my head and without looking at stats this is my team.

Not sure who OTH had playing but the EP side was made up of mainly A graders and a few B Graders.

In it to win it ay?

unfortunately it seems for a few, the sunday arvo slap was more important than representing PDCA u21s , hope it was worth it. The u21s who did represent us, had a very good away win and now are only 2 home wins away from having their 20/20 slapfest at ADELAIDE OVAL...

I think i know what your referring to here and openly admit that to some playing a 20/20 with best mates is more important than representing the league. In alot of the youngesters that play at our club cricket is most definatly their second sport and without the mates probably wouldnt be playing the game at all.

Remeber after all cricket is just a game and if going out and playing against some guys you dont care about with guys you dont care about isnt your thing than thats your choice to make.

Raed's averaging almost 70, so is Morris. Secca's has taken about 5 wickets and Milo less.

Don't get me wrong, I think you are pretty close to having the best 11 cricketers, I'm not convinced that you have the best 11 in form atm.

Agree i definatly encourage anyone to give rep a cricket a go, i have enjoyed it each time i have played BUT for some its not enjoyable, for some the sole reason they play any cricket at all is to play with their mates, geez we had one bloke move to our club this year purely based on playing with mates.

Dont worry the bloke in question was definatly encouraged to play BUT his idea of a great weekend was to play serious cricket for a club he cares about with mates, go fishing out at wallaroo that Saturday night drinking with mates, come back hungover and have a bit of a dirty slap with his mates on the sunday.

Anyone the kids only 17 and could possibly have another 4 cracks at playing rep cricket so hopefully one day he will be interested but thats up to him and only him to decide.

Looking at the averages for the season it displays Westies a fair cut above the rest, I've worked out their overall batting averages vs overall bowling averages.

Westies 33.08/ 13.12 (+19.96)
Vale 25.90/ 14.61 (+11.29)
Rosies 24.29/ 17.95 (+6.34)
Virginia 15.41/ 24.61 (-9.2)
OTH 16.15/ 20.49 (-4.34)
Smitty 22.60/ 25.86 (-3.26)
Units 17.50/ 15.76 (+1.74)
Gardens 11.46/ 26.18 (-14.72)

Gives us an indication on where out improvement has to come from.
