This can't be right. On Saturday there could have been a situation where a clubs A grade didn't get on but B grade and C grade did get on (assuming C grade is an LO team). What if an A grade bloke gets crook or has an accident and can't play this week in the 50 over game or maybe the Captain doesn't want to pick him because he may want an extra bowler. You can't replace him with a B grader because they are halfway through a game so surely you can play a bloke who played C grade the previous week.

I am positive some of you have this wrong and that David Heyzer may not have provided the advice you are alluding to. If he did then I think he may have it wrong. How can this not be allowed yet the ATCA allow State or close to State cricketers such as Moffatt and Sayers play ATCA when their District club has a Bye.

I'd assume the latter would be tough luck. If someone was suddenly unavailable however there would surely be a permit you could seek or something

There is a rule in place for SACA players to do so. I believe, as for moving a C grade player up it would require a permit, you might get one, doubt your gonna get 8 of them though

In the PDCA you need to seek permission to drop more than one club grade, seems to work fine.

What's everyone's thoughts on a visiting A grade team pulling out the esky full of piss and drinking it on the oval after stumps...

poor form ......unless the home team had no drinks...
very bad form if drinks from home side available. would have told them to put them back in the esky and go home

I'm sure there are a lot of A Grade teams that enjoy having a beer in the changerooms at the end of a days play where they can collectively reflect on what has transpired........part of building some team spirit.

I don't begrudge a beer each after the game but then go in for one, it's a team rule for us. We put on 3 or 4 jugs for the opposition every home game and still sometimes they'll sit outside and drink their own.

The good old days are long gone unfortunately..
I guarantee the older generation still do by the main, however the most of the new generation don't even shower let alone hang around for a beer..
Nowadays it's whites off, shorts on, hats on back to front and get the phone so they can check Facebook or text their mates or girlfriends as they are walking to their car...

If bar facilities were available thats pretty ordinary.
1st week, shower, then into opposition club for a couple or 3.
Certainly bringing your own esky and drinking it dry on the oppositions ground is woefull!!!!
Second week is difficult as we want our blokes back for tea and awards.

IO seems to be spot on.

Played a game this year (Rnd 1), played at a school, after the days play went to collect the scorebook and have a quick chat to the opposing Captain. He had a beer in his hand and offered one of his players a beer who passed it up, there was no offer to myself or any of our players. I do believe that the home team needs to let the opposition know that they are welcome into the club or changerooms for a beer. It probably still happens at A-Grade level but it certainly doesnt happen at B-Grade level.
