I understand Jervois having more than Mannum but how can they have so many more? Not to mention they have the same amount to use as the team who finished 6th, it just doesnt add up IMO.

Also, we had our first training last night with about 20-25 rocking up. Not bad for pre-christmas

So far the Loves have been linked to Echunga, Meningie, staying at Tailem, and who knows where else.

Motlop would be a 4 pointer? I presume, having played mostly SANFL last season. Both TB and Meningie would struggle to fit him in I think, perhaps the Bears would be more likely.

Sounds unlikely to me. Couldn't see Motlop at the Bears

Motlop is a 5 pointer which puts him out of most clubs plans. Bit sad that points stops this guy playing country footy. Bears are well and truly on the agenda for $1500 per match.

Yeah you're right, he played 13 games for Port last year. I was thinking if he played more SANFL games than AFL he'd be 4 pointer, but looks as though he is a 5 pointer then.

If he played at his best and had his head switched on he would kick 100 plus goals, but if he went to the Bears they'd be hoping he could get through a season without regular suspensions (as per experience in Darwin League at the moment).

With all this talk about Meningie - are they any closer to appointing a coach?

Not much point signing a forward to kick goals when they have lost half there midfield, ball wont get down there enough for him to kick 100 goals. He's the kinda bloke that would come here, hardly train and expect to dominate. Waste of $ and valuable points IMO

I mentioned quite a while ago that I had heard the Love boys would not be at Tailem next year. The power of the $$$ will win over showing loyalty.

Ray and Owen Love have signed with Tailem Bend. They enjoy it at Tailem and feel like the club is building on something, with the points neutralising and not having to play 4-5 juniors every week Tailem expect to continue to improve in 2012.

Word has it all contract players from last year have been retained, with perhaps Mitch Vickers (0 pointer) & Max Cheek (0 points brother to Sam) returning. Well done from the Committee this year trying to turn the club around.

There will be other recruits apart from Cheek and Vickers, between 3-4, with majority of them connected to the club either as juniors or through past family involvement in the club. It does have a positive feel, the points are back to level pegging, the list is building and with a good pre-season hopefully go further up the ladder. A lot of discussion last season was about Tailem playing the 4-5 juniors every week as a questionable solution, however, im confident that the 2012 season will show the return on that investment.

If what's been posted on here recently is correct, sounds like Tailem will be as competitive as last year, perhaps even a chance of top 3, but a lot will depend on whats happening with the other clubs as well.

I'd probably expect Mypo to improve significantly from last year, especially if Eckermann returns.

Mannum its hard to know, may depend on whether they get Cockshell or not.

Jervois will presumably be right up there again, but they would want Coulter to return and not stay at North Adelaide after doing pre season there. The Bloods have good connections though and with their main recruits returning they should be right up there. If Squire and Russell don't return though they will presumably want to find quality replacements for them.

The Bears still appear to be the mystery team with a coach apparently not appointed yet. With possible player losses to Kingston, including Gibbs, that will hurt, but they obviously have an intent to spend up a bit given rumours on here, so who knows which players they may attract.

It goes without saying Imps and Ramblers will be right up there again. If they get a few of their local juniors back from Sturt after moving up from under 18's, then this will only add to the depth of both clubs.
