However, because that's March 30 some clubs are having a hoo haa because their cricket clubs won't let them use the oval..

Was going to be after Easter, but too many peanuts putting in for the season to start on the 30th March.

March 30 is cricket G.F. weekend I believe. That will rule a few grounds out that week. have round 1 the week after easter and there will be a lot less stuffing around. But thats probably too easy. A few people running this comp love making life harder than it needs to be

Cricket grand finals are the week before 24&25 March
Well at least the ATCA and PDCA are

District final at Adelaide Oval is the following week

That's good then, you have given everybody 5 days to get ready for football. Don't worry about trial games! that's right saafl can charge us to use Thebarton oval for trial games.

The date to start just t has to change. Over half the clubs have cricket on the ovals until April and councils who won't allow football in march. Just a silly idea.

We started on 2nd April
It's kicked to the 31st because it's a leap year

Are we only playing the one rep game this year in Tassie & will the D1 bye be between rounds 16-17 as normal?
2017, 2019 & 2020 PREMIERS
RICHMOND, RICHMOND, RICHMOND.

Let that be a lesson to you, Port Adelaide Sturt. & Norwood You don't beat Glenelg in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Easter was not the weekend after round 1 this year, makes so much sense play round 1 then have a bye.

You're quite right, it was after Round 3 but Easter in 2012 is on the 8th of April as against the 24th in 2011. I'd be pretty sure the SAAFL can't determine the world calender for Easter ;) ;)

That said, the year before the league did have 1 round then break for Easter IIRC though I do stand to be corrected.

I'll correct myself. It was 2009 with round 1 then easter

Not saying they should change the world calender, just makes more sence to start the week after easter on the 14th april, maybe the clubs should vote for this.

There will be the 2011 team of the year v SA Country prob Easter again and U/23 v Tassie

Not sure when the round will be for D1 Bye yet but would be probably around the last third of the year
