Here you go chief:

Div 1 premiership as coach and player
4 time most handsome player of the year
I hold the churches record for most consecutive games without a fielding vote
I once bowled 17 overs in a row many many moons ago
I am the current tree jumping champion of South Australia....beat that!

I wanna know who is the quickest bowler in this comp? Heard Smasha sends them down alright when he's angry, but the Nitschke bloke is sharp too.
I wish I was as good a cricketer as what Phantom tells me he is

Every good side has a good spinner and I'm going to back phantom gossipers opinion and say that should be Norts.

Not every side has a good spinner. And as mentioned earlier about his season thus far, I will not be suprised if he is not in the selectors calculations.

Not many if any Div 1 premiership sides over the last ten years have had a really good spinner that has heavily contributed to GF success

Pretty happy we've got Andrew Wehrman aboard this season. Not only is he an aggressive bat, but a useful off-spinner. Gives them a good rip and probably bowled his best on Saturday against Lutheran albeit without the wickets he probably deserved. 1-16 off 8. He played against Nitschke in juniors up at the Riverland, and when he moved to the big smoke was team mates with PV's Marshall at TTG.

Yep, no worries Lairdy...

Some interesting discussion around the rep side. :D

One thing that a LOT of people underestimate, and often fail to take into consideration, is a player's fitness levels. Getting through 40 - 65 overs once a week is a stroll in the park compared to 5 consecutive days of 100 over cricket. You're comparing apples with oranges. ;)

Guys with decent levels of fitness still come to grief during Carnivals and in my association as a player & coach, I can't recall the squad getting through a tournament unscathed, without some significant injury or illness having an impact on 1 or 2 players.

Something that not many people would know is that Bryce was considered for selection at the 2010 National Championships in Sydney. The selectors are fully aware of his ability and his standing as one, if not the, premier spinner in C&CCA right now. By his own admission, he had grave doubts about his ability to get through 5 consecutive days of cricket, He was up-front about it, which speaks volumes for his character and ethics. Brenton Reidy was in that same boat back before the 2008 Melbourne carnival after severely aggravating a niggly groin twinge, carried forward from footy season.

We will not take injured or semi-injured players away. That is our policy. ;)

I wasn't and wouldn't question Norts character and ethics. He seems pretty straight up and down. I was simply setting PG straight and giving a reason to why no-one has considered Bryce in there side.

Never said you were mate. ;)

I'm just trying to share a bit of what happens behind the scenes around some of our processes & policies. One of the common misconceptions that many of the couch critics have had in the past is that the Carnival side was a boys club thing and many have made incorrect assumptions (you might recall one or two... ) about our processes and selections. I've got no problem being upfront and honest about rep team matters, and I'm sure brod won't mind me sharing that scenario. ;)
