DNFTT, right Panther?

Bloody about time Ferg! Why haven't you batted like this all year? Frustrate the bejeezus out of me...
Klinger has been relatively solid all year (considering how much tripe the top order has produced), it just goes to show what he is capable of when one of the top batsmen stick with him.
Harris twin failures, but he'll get another shot, since we don't want to bring Dougall back just yet.

Who said prior to the game beginning that they would eat their hat if Mennie got a game? I believe it was me.
Sorry Joe Mennie, your seven-fa may be just a fleeting highlight in what I expect will be a crappy short career, but it's got be chewing on the end of my cap.

Klinger 80*
Ferguson 113*

Is there any chance of attempting a result tomorrow?

Not for SA

they will have to make a game of it and at least try for outright.

What set them an easy target like they gave Queensland?
Only two results possible tomorrow, a draw or a WA win.
It will take most of the morning session to take the lead and then another couple of hours to set a decent chase. That would leave minimal time to bowl them out.

Outstanding effort on day 3 by SA
SA 93
WA 1/183 Stumps day 1
WA lost 9/185
WA 368
Apart from Behrendorf the number 11 batter, the rest made double figures
Joe Mennie 7/96 [29.4] havent seen him bowl yet, so cant comment
SA were 2/11 and gone
WA had em by the aggarts
But the Run MAXchine and Ferguson killed em with an unbroken 195 partnership

Becoz of SA lack of SS points so far, they might have to set WA a gimme gimme gimme target
Fair dinkum that King William Road deck, with the lack of 6 point games just puts our players behind the 8 ball
Last game we gave QL a 260 target, makes me sick
Tomorrow if Ferg and Maxie get going there might be another gifterised target, making me sick again if they lose

Gotta give it a crack though Mally. I mean if SA knock off the 70 odd in the first hour with loss of 1 wicket tops, we should at least try and set 100-150 and have a crack at bowling them out.....unlikely as all hell but at the end of the day, wont mean jatz crackers to SA if WA net 2 or 6 points.....but would mean a hell of a lot to snatch a win....

I'd norMALly be all in favour of a declaration for even a remote chance of a win, but sometimes, when there is absolutely no chance of a win, it's important to regain some pride in performance and have another good day's cricket.

Don't forget, though, we're talking about SA here. Declarations are a long way off yet :?

All out 320 is just as possible.

Frustrated by the bad, because days like yesterday show how very good the good performances are.

Mennie is a good young bowler MP, i think you've been pretty harsh on him. He has made the change over to SA enhance his career and played strait away. He has deserved his spot from all reports was the best perfromed bowler in the pre season. He bowls good pace and that second innings similar to Pattinson in the test match could be the innings that sets him up. To many people write off the young lads to quick IMO. Dougall included in that, Aussie U/19 and grade 100's so can obviously play, just needs time in the 1s to feel like he belongs (this doesnt excuse poor performances of course).

There is some good young talent in the U19s coming though the state so its not all doom and gloom

Redback supporters have no patience, we bag the selectors for perservering with mediocrity, we bag them for promoting youth, we expect the youth to come in and star from the get-go.

My point was when the game is there to be won (get points) we a piss weak. When we have no chance of points we are competative. If you cant make sense of that westcoastpanther then I suggest you go play hopscotch!
Is the name of the game to get points or restore pride?

Stick by my comments: PISS WEAK in all departemnts of the game.

Good batting on day 3 ...sure....but how many points does that get us? = 0

Don't get me wrong, I hope the seven-fa is a sign of things to come, I hope he rips through bowling line-ups for years to come. I just don't think he will.
Dougall doesn't have the right stuff to play first class cricket yet. Again, I hope he improves, I hope he gets there, I want him to break run scoring records for us, but right now there's no chance.

I want to see 5 things today

Klinger make his first ton for the year
Ferguson beat his modest FC high score of 132
Cooper come back from his post double century slump
Stray to earn his baggy red
Two players in tail make double figures
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt
