you forgot to mention, in his first Test
When he is still doing it in his 6th Test I will then agree with you

so after yay amount of first class games, yeah amount of t20/one dayers/ yay amount of training sessions he is still going to need six test matches to be able to put one ball on the stumps at the number 11 batsmen.

OK!

good to see Nathan Lyon prove the theory correct.

Perhaps the worst Australian batting opening combination Ive ever seen made a 3 run partnership
I am a real David warner fan
But he is a tee ball cricketer
The ball that got him out today was the type he puts into the crowd or attempts to put into the crowd in 20/20 games
HE IS NOT A TEST CRICKETER [yet]
He needs to play a season of SS and get 700+ runs, and then get a gig
I know I have to allow some slack, it is his first test match, but AU are trying to turn a limited overs superstar into a Test cricketer

No slack allowed.

Said before the test match, I prefer Cowan over him, Values his wicket more and is a perfect foil for someone like Hughes.

I agree with all your comments, For once

I think he's worked bloody hard at his game. 12 months ago I was in total agreeance with you. We all whinge about the selectors not playing who's hot at the time and then we find excuses why they fail at the top level.
He was the obvious choice IMO and nerves probably got the better of him, he was always going to come under scrutiny no matter how he batted, if he was too aggressive we would've thought he needs to tone it down and if he batted too slow we would've said he should play his natural game.
He needs to be able to slide under the radar but it wont happen, look at the recent T20 series vs South Africa, the weight of expectation ruined him.

I think Cosgrove should go to NZ. So many positives. Would get an international game for starts. He and Ryder would be the team cornerstones.
