Woke up this morning and sauntered into the bathroom...Ewwwww, wet socks.

Turn light on and a thin layer of water appears on the floor coming from underneath the vanity and the bath mat (which I'd lazily left on the floor) was soaked.

Yay.

So now I have to take a day without pay to go and find a new vanity unit and get the leak fixed, I just hope it's not coming from the wall :(

Getting a phone call at 9am this morning from my landlord informing me that he is selling the house and that I need to be out next week. What makes matters worse is that it is my housemate who is buying it. My housemate is an immigrant who arrived illegally via Christmas Island (as is my current landlord) and I thought we were mates. He has been doing a foundation course to get into Uni and as I am a graduate I have been helping him a lot with his studies and to improve his written and spoken English. Now he has a bunch of mates all getting out of detention centres and wants them to move in with him. I have no problem with this as when he buys the house it is his prerogative, but to throw me out on my bum with stuff all notice is poor form considering all that I have done for him this year.

Luckily there is the Resdiential Tenancies Act 1995 and in particular Section 81 (2) whereby a landlord must give a tenant atleast 60 days to vacate the premises if they wish to sell!

My two cats, who, overnight, managed to vomit in volumes I didn't think possible, leaving a big mess to clean up before work. The couch is almost a no-go zone now.

They are given plenty of water, grass (no, not THAT sort before anyone posts it) and I don't overfeed them. Don't understand it.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Take off from Perth 12:55 Local time. Level out, 15 minutes later :

"This is the Captain speaking, we have a small problem with the air craft *blah blah blah* nothing to concerned about, but we have to go back to Perth"

WTF?

"We also need to burn off enough fuel to land safely, we will be circling off the West coast of Perth for approx. 2 hours, with the landing gear down, to burn extra fuel."

We land back in Perth 3:45 local time. They ( QANTAS ) find us another plane, bumping another Adelaide flight back, and we depart Perth at 4:40 local time to arrive in Adelaide at 10:40pm.

I'm happy they look at safety as a prority,I'm glad they found us another plane and we didn't get stuck in Perth ( could have if we had not taken off by 6:30 with time differences / curfews ) but man it shit me how long a day Friday was....this after two solid days on the grog.

Could they not dump the extra fuel and spare you two hours of aerial rotation?

From the following article:

http://bit.ly/sILIgk

Consider the context set by this fragment of text:

"All six teenage offenders are known to police. The 19-year-old, of Rosewater, was released from prison three months ago, having spent 14 days in custody for previous offences."

Then consider this sentence from a statement by family members:

"We are trying to understand why this happened. It is so out of character."

THAT gives me the absolute irrits.
