Forrest tries to bring up his 100 in one shot and skies the ball to Bailey. Out for 94. Qld 3/259. George gets his first wicket of the innings

Dear Mr Bailey.

The ball can't spin if it doesn't actually land on the pitch.

Regards,
1870.

well the bulls called our bluff and are obviously happy getting 2 points with a view of getting a bit of a lead and running thru us later on tomorrow which based on 2nd innings efforts so far this season isnt entirely out of the question

My day at the cricket
Got there and sat in the Bradman Stand
I like the seats right at the back
Today, the surrounding area was as they say like a pig sty
The amount of squashed chips, empty chip cartons, empty sandwich plastic containers, papers, empty drink plastic bottles or cans of drink that was littering the area was disgusting
How do people go to the cricket and litter
Is it that hard to get up off their anals and walk to the inside areas and place rubbish in bins , obviously not

Was there just b4 the 2nd session commenced
Things improved when iconic safooty poster Bayman joined me to watch todays cricket

First thing that was noticeable was how tired our opening bowler looked
Obrien, our opening bowler must have been buggered , he appeared to be bowling at about 85-90 speed

considering the numbers that go to shield cricket are negligible they obviously dont employ cleaners on a daily basis, having said that, are you sure it wasnt baymans mess he made b4 you got there mal??

have heard the great one is partial to a bucket of chips or 28!!!

on a serious note re the match, i had the live stream happening in the background as i cooked the tribe dinner, and our blokes seemed to be batting like millionaires, thornton smashed the first ball of the innings sqare of the wicket for a boundary and was out 4 balls later, actually heard someone call out " put your head down" a couple of overs later, doubt he was talking to a fellow spectator who was blocking his view ;)

RUBBISH
Rubbish is Rubbish
It happens at the footy as well
People litter
If they were at home they walk to a bin in the house and rid off it
The same people dont at the cricket or football

KLINGERS FIRST INNINGS dissMisAL
Bayman is adamant this happened yesterday
The ball b4 the run MAXchine got out
Father xmas was making himself conspicuous in the crowd between the giant screen and the scoreboard
This was happening as Klinger was focusing on the next ball, the one he got out on
Perhaps this is why the runMAXchine walked off in a huff ?

FIELD SETTINGS
George bowling to a well set Townsend
This was the field
slip
gully
deepish point
2 shortish extra covers
deepish mid off
mid on
wide mid on
deep square on the fence

Interesting field setting, had me interested on what may happen
Then later Doc Harris bowled at Townsend, same field
The it was either Christian or Haberfield had the same field as well

Im missing something here ?
How does, in particular, the part time bowling of Harris get the same field ?

I had told Bayman this when George was into a spell
"" If I was captain I would 2 men deep on the legside and a short leg and bounce little Townsend.""
Would ya believe the next over this field was set
Fair Dinkum , it happened as I said the very next George over
I jokingly looked under our seats to see if we were bugged !!!!

BAILEY V LYNN
Lynn is trying to establish himself in this team
Bailey is prob close to becoming extinct as a spinner
Lynn was on 3, and still nervous no doubt
Bailey bowled a half pitcher that Lynn creamed over square leg for 6
Next ball a full toss that Lynn hit over wide long on for 6
This got Lynn going [366444 his first 6 scoring shots]
But I honestly feel sorry for Bailey
Adelaide oval is a c..t of a pitch in SS games for spinners to bowl on
Im thinking if he played for another SS team and bowled away from Adelaide Oval, he might still make the grade

PITCH
Once again the deck is flat
SA 349 + 1/26
QL 3/350 DEC
14/725
QL rarely make loads of runs, but today on our lovely deck they certainly did
Makes it hard to win a SS with decks like this
Its boring for some of the 500 spectators today
I had had enough at one stage and went to the Bradman Museum

THORNTON
Out for 6 in the first over by Gale
Everyone gets out at some stage
But what I liked were the brilliant cover drives for 4 +2 that he hit
The courage to play those shots in that situation impressed me

MATTHEW GALE
5/81 + 1/14
Very good effort indeed so far
Now imagine if Matthew plays for Australia and plays v WI and bowls to an opening batsman called Chris ...

On this day
28/11/1936

14,00 school kids attended Adelaide Oval for the Empire Pageant
It was a very hot day, which took its toll
Many people were affected by the heat, ambulance officers had a busy day treating about 1200 casualties
Its has been written that the performers were brilliant
The Empire Pageant was a celebration of SA being 100 years old

Today 28/11/2011 the forecast is for about a maximum 34 degree day, a hot day as it was 75 years ago

Perhaps the pitch was scuffed up and helped the spin bowlers
The next SS game after the Pageant was
SA V NS
SA 181
NS 149
SA 301
NS 224
Clarrie Grimmett took 8 wickets this game
NS had an opening bowler called Alan Mcgilvray playing that game
Alan had figures of 0/28 + 0/17, I had to 'comment' on that !
