T/20 scores anyone?

I went and watched the 2 PDCA games and heard 2nd hand that Pooraka 'smashed' rose park and adel luth lost but it was a closer game.

Remembering i heard this 2nd hand.

Rose Park made 99 batting first and Pooraka made the total with ease 3/100 in the 11th over I think. We dropped both their openers in the first 2 overs which may have made things a little interesting but I doubt it, we could have made 250 I reckon & Pooraka would have still got the runs, quality outfit who should win the whole comp.

Yes I was out there today due to the shortage of players Rose Lakes had today. I've been dwindling with the plebs in the lower grades the past couple weeks Carey such is the depth at Rose Lakes

Yes the great man suited up for the A's today Carey. Took a good catch in the deap that went 500 metres into the air too.

Yep we were scraping the barrel Carey to get a side together, and even thought of the 'F' word, but thanks to Riddler, a few from our B's and Steve Neal who wasn't spose to play till next year due to injury, we managed to get 11.

Would loved to have played Pooraka with Wehrman, Henderson, Spencer and Bruce-Gordon (maybe O'Gorman too ), but they are a quality outfit (only missing their skipper Ellicot and best explained by someone from Pooraka why he isn't playing ), and whilst the scoreboard might have been closer, I believe they will win the whole comp and will be very surprised if they don't. Good Luck to Craig Turner and Jamie Jarrett being Senior Life Members of PCC in thier quest to be SAMCA T20 Champions and also for their promotion back into A1s.

I know it wasn't in today's paper too, but congrats to Rose Park B's who were staring at a comprehensive ouright defeat for this week but were saved by a 170 run stand between Geoff Riddle and Michael 'Hooter' Hassett. Riddle made 57, whilst Hooter made the club's first individual century for the year smashing 107.

NEK were off to a great start today thanks to their openers Ratos and McKenzie (spelling? ) as they got to the tea break being 0/117, and Rose Park looked to be up that bad smelling creek without a paddle. From there things changed with 3 wickets taken in the first 3 overs after the break to bring the game back to level pegging, until the equation became too great for NEK before being bowled out for 193. Ian Henderson bowled the best 'None For' spell he could imagine with 17 overs straight but it was the man with no surname Nathan Bruce-Gordon and my man to rival Jon Smith for the Brownlow, in Jeff Clarke who both bowled unchanged from tea that got Rose Lakes the victory. Bruce-Gordon ended up with 4/40 and Clarke 6/48. Looking forward to tomorrow's T20 but with Wehrman, Bruce-Gordon, Henderson, Spencer and even O'Gorman unavailable we're battling for 11 players

Hendo has always been a work horse bowling long spells he would be late 30's i would say although he looks 64 oh hang on thats how many footy jumpers he has in his cuboard 1 for each side he has played for

Lol. Easy turbo. It's common in sports these days that when a team gets flogged(cricket and footy come to mind), instead of saying they played like crack, bowled bad, batted even worse, they come up with the 'other team was brutally and skillfully to good' excuse. I think it's an ego thing.

I would like to congratulate MATTY WILES on one of the most sportsmen like things i have seen in cricket in a very long time.

Matty was facing our off spinner he edged the ball to first slip who claimed the catch. Most of us including myself were unsure if it carried. We had 2 fielders thought it did carry but the central umpire, our keeper, and most of our fielders werent sure infact square leg umpire did'nt think it carried yet Matty went up to the fielder and asked are you sure you caught it to which the fielder replied YES and he walked.

Just thought it is worth a mention of this sportsmen like behaviour.

Thanks mate. I only play to have fun and maybe win a few games. You guys were a great bunch of blokes to play against. Tell your first slip he owes me a beer and we are even

And im not doubting that, but your comment doesnt do justice to the outfit that Pooraka is this season. You need to give a bit of credit instead of taling about a 'very undermanned' RP outfit who scored an 'very average 99'. End of the day you can only play who is put in front of you, and regardless of the side Rose Park put out today, Pooraka obviously came to play, and I tend to agree.. I think they can go all the way..
