Also i would assume that Westy who you are saying is now a Cat will be forced to serve his suspension for the first however many weeks remain and wont actually be coaching in the first month?

bit early to make that call. We might lose a few players here and there, but we will also pick up a few. Have secured the services of a very handy FF to stock up the forward line even more so! Would assume Westy will be sitting out the fist 5 weeks at the cats!

Hows this for a rumour. Smosh apparently have recruited 2 players from Henley, 2 from Port Districts and a 6.8 Ruckman from Essendon, plus Campo is going to play. Could be the side to beat in 2012? Can any SMOSH players confirm? SW?

What names have you been given HH? I think Emmett Cashel from PDFC has gone to SMOSH not sure if there's another.

Premiership chaser.

Would that ruckman be Christian bock? Struggled in the 2s at woodville but would surely dominate div 3 if true. Would be a big fall from grace to be on essendons rookie list not long ago

The (Bock) Choy is playing at the eagles spoke to him at the pub on sundiy. Jarrod 'Boofa' Wright is the new ressies coach out at the eagles and those 2 are good mates. Boof seems to think he will be playing league footy. Think the AFL dream is still alive with the choy.

No way, I was surprised he got picked up to begin with.

I don’t have names for the SMOSH recruits – I wouldn’t remember them anyway – I don’t know a single person from either Henley or Port Districts, but it was from a fairly reliable source. Maybe the SMOSH boys can fill us in after they’ve had their first training session. Also heard there’s a good chance Rae won’t have the time for SANFL due to work? Would be very handy if you can hold on to him!

Cashel, who came form Lockleys originally and moved to Districts the year they won the 2009 U/18s flag, is an example of the group of blokes in junior footy who play at a not so successful club moving to a club more capable of winning a premiership which ends up winning the flag that year that certain player moves. You see it all the time and it really sh!ts me. Might be move to SMOSH because I think he's ex St Micks.

Who's coaching SMOSH's A's,B's & C's this year?
I presume Stubing is going on with the A's but rumour has it interviews are being conducted this weekend for the B & C grade jobs.

You presume correctly NM, Stubing is going on again. He has been great for the club. Other grades yet to be announced

Ditto those sentiments - with respect the coaches i've had in the past, Stubba is probably the best Coach I've had in my carreer. Gets the ebst out of his players.

Pre season Starts tmw for us - few nervous Lions who appear to have been in a good paddock over the last few Months! no Doubt Young Brad Finney will be in tip top shape.

If Blasheck doesn't get under his feet and trip the bloke ass over tit.

Flip, after the long drive to Salisbury Oval you will find the vast expanses and dimensions of the oval quite complimentary to your game. Also Bloody cold beers and good blokes inside the club after the days play.

Good blokes? ummm... jk.

Don't forget the ladies, Mr RedMagpie 8) haha

Anyhoo, i found last season that there were lots of quality games that were close up until the last half... until the fitter team was able to use the run of the field to take the win. Covering the field while running water was hard too at times :? lol

First pre season training last night for us. Had about 50 blokes out with a lot of new faces which inlcuded a few U18's. Was great to see.
Only thing will be to see how long it last with big numbers. Usually get a few drop off throughout the summer. Hopefully everyone can hang around though.

Coaches have been announced:
A grade - Lucas Stubing
B grade - Mick Tomeo
C grade - Shaun Hansen
D grade - Matty Phillips

Sea bass Phillips stepping up for the D Grade! Extraordinary!

Most positive thing on Wednesday was the the number of old schollars coming back to/joining the club. The more we can draw from St Micks the better - there's a great footy culture out there, and we like to think we're next logical place for those younger lads to continue playing together in that spirit.

Looking forward to a tough Summer!

Was Great to see Simon Quinn back out on the track. The young fella over his injuries, and primed for a big year. The club is very happy he has decided to continue on.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.
