Are Grange still spending big money on Brad Young and co to keep them around the mark in A1?

Probably about the same as Brighton spend on Ifould, Rechies spend on Duffett/Southam, Payneham spend on Harrington, Pulteney spend on Ashmeade etc etc etc
What is your point FF??

think he wanted to throw out the rumor that Grange pay Young to play  every one gets paid these days, Amateur sport is a buidness, thats right wrote it the way its to be said.

No one at AHOS gets piad anymore mate. As club treasurer of 6 years no one has been paid in my time as treasurer. There were incentives etc early on 12 or so years ago but that has been cut out now. Sad that it has got to that. I take pride that I play for a team that plays for each other and for the reasons rather than for financial incentives.

Made the Premier League flag oh so sweet didn't it RW ??

Please note the cancellation of all Senior ATCA fixtures for Saturday 26th November 2011 due to the weather conditions which have hampered any pitch preparation.
It is planned the matches in grades A1 to C3 will now be played as one day fixtures on Saturday 3rd December 2011

No doubt it would of Wiz but I find it ridiculous that people always go on about clubs paying money.
It has been going on for years and will continue to do so.
What i find hilarious is the money that some people want to believe is out there..
Some of the numbers people spray off are just not real..
Grange will be a target for some time due to the success they have had and some of the names that are there, but let me say that whilst they no doubt have a budget to spend on players, it is not some massive amount of money that is endless as they just would not survive like any club.
Like every club they rely on senior and junior subs, bar takings, fuctions and sponsors so I am not sure where people think it all comes from..
They do all that in 6 months as it is all soccer for the other 6 months and the 2 are not connected at all.
Admiration must go to any club that can have success without spend and as you mentioned it is a tangible that is priceless, but reality is the longevity of that may not last.
At some stage there will be another club that has extended success and they will wear all the $$$$$ tags, so we may as all get over it..

No doubt, and I agree.

But little old AHOS winning that flag 3 years ago against bigger clubs, with bigger names, with bigger facilities and bigger budgets was one for the ages. Whether that keeps them sustainable at Premier League level remains to be seen because it very much is a friends of friends, word of mouth club......as you know. The school boys all end up playing Grade cricket so it really leaves a club like AHOS with zero junior program for the Old Scholars club.

I know what dollars have been thrown around this season in turf cricket, and in comparison to footy, when you spread that sum out over the course of the season, it really is beans. That club loyalties are tested for small amounts of money in the grand scheme of things is disappointing....but thats another topic.

Sturt. And you can imagine the money available to a large amount of the playing group if they went chasing it.

Old Scotch 9/102 20 overs
Pooraka 3/103 10 overs.

1st game was
Rose Park all out on last ball for 99
Pooraka 3/101 in 10 overs.

Just while we are on the topic of T20 it was extremely disasppointing today to see that the council/club left the sprinklers on overnight and the turf pitch was soaked and unavailable to be played on. So as a result we played on two of the crappiest hard wickets you will ever see. In the final, most bowlers were coming off a 5-6 step run up so they didnt slip on the crease due to the sand spilling over from the sandpit either side of the wicket.

When we saw this at 10.00am when we rocked up, our ground was offered and made available for both games, and was declined. We then made the same offer to Old Scoth to move the final there but their President said no. Bet he wished that he had now. Whlie it is fantastic to be given the oppertunity to play now on Adelaide Oval again the rubbish that was served up today needs to be looked at by someone. Horrible organisation. Serioulsy can't be hard to turn off a timer switch so that the sprinkers dont come on.

Adelaide Lutheran CC were the hosts, so perhaps there was a lack of communication between them and the council for the Sunday game? Can understand you guys offering Pooraka's facilities for the day, but can understand the hosts wanting to have both games at their ground with their bar facilities open and money to be made.

Good Luck to PCC for the SAMCA T20 finals as they were a class above the 3 other sides at Adelaide Lutheran yesterday.
