Well done to Sam. I can't beleoive we have had 12 players drafted last year and this year with the rookie list still to come. The amazing thing is only Gorringe, Savage, Forster and Grigg from that group were U18. Brown, Jonas and Roberts were 19 but in AFL terms they had missed there big chance to get drafted while Phillips, Duigan, Lower, Puopollo and Rowe were all mature players.

So if you want to be a top ten pick - play for Sturt
If you want to go to Crows - play for Eagles
If you don't get drafted and become "mature age" - play for Norwood.

Stats over a short period can be misleading but surely if there are eight mature agers at Norwood in two years, then AFL clubs are missing them from others in the comp too. Sellar was a long way from a dominant force at local level too. I blame the advertiser for continuing to suggest that Luke Jarrad is the benchmark.

Alex Forster leaves Norwood and SA and is off to Perth to play for the Fremantle Dockers as a compensation pick.

Sam played an U18 game for Port a couple of years ago, so not entirely a new player to the SANFL.

Does that mean he will go straight to Port rather than in the mini draft?

That is more what I was reffering to when I said 'new' to SANFL. Although, if he has previously been registered with the Magpies, he may be automatically aligned to the Maggies?

For the Crows to have a chance to draft Alex Forster and miss out is a disgrace to their recruiting department that needs to have a good look at themselves.
The Crows recruiting performance over the years is a disgrace and about time they got some good people in there.
Alex will come back to haunt the Crows in the same way as Pavlich did.

I think Sam Kerridge will turn out to be a pretty handy player for Adelaide, from what i have seen from him. Only time will tell if they have got it right.

Did you also moan about the Crows taking Dangerfield instead of Ebert too? Paddy shaping up hopefully as a one club player and captain yet Ebert has had to move clubs to get more regular game time

No I did not moan about Ebert and agreed Dangerfield was a better long term prospect. Ebert is just a player nothing special in my book.
Time will tell about Forster and yes bookmark it....... especially when the player returns to Victoria once again.

Interesting to read today in the 'Tiser that the Crows may consider taking former player Darren Pfieffer again in tomorrow's PSD / Rookie Draft.

I think his SANFL form this year showed he is still capable of playing footy at the highest level and would not be surprised to hear his name called tomorrow.

I'd also love to hear Lee Spurr and Josh Waldhuter's name called out but preferably by either the Crows or Power meaning those lads stay in the SANFL.
