Ingle Farm boys tried that in the Semi last year and realised when he put another one on to the road and he was about 190 that he could actually pull a bit...

The walkerville opener gave him 1 short 2nd ball after the first ball of the match was clipped off the pads for 4. The chest high 2nd ball hit the fence before a fielder had a chance to turn and chase....

Right, some people just piss me off. Where does a club get off trying to say that a certain player that has played for them in the past owes fees, when infact , the said player was playing there under a "gentlemans agreement" for nothing. Very amateur behaviour from this club and hope that this comes back and bites them in the arse. You would want to make sure that the person spinning this bullshit can keep his lies going , wouldnt want to trip over when the truth lands on your doorstep!!!!!

That is how I got him a few weeks ago, however disagree he is not a fan of the short ball. Has to be a decent bouncer coz if you are off like he has shown many occasions in the past and short of a length without any oomph he is very good at picking the length of the delivery early and has a very decent pullshot.

That bloke makes runs for fun!

Plays for woodville rechabite not south...

Played juniors and seniors at Port with winters spent in England, until defecting to prospect.

Coached rechabite to A1 flag maybe 5 years ago before heading to England to live. 2nd season back.

And I stand to be corrected but was in the Cricket Academy here around the same time as Langer and co?

He didnt go to the cricket academy, but play A grade at 15 or something and that was the same season they had Langer at the club. Played some underage state cricket, and made a heap of runs for SA U17.

Agreed his doesnt like the short stuff, as long as you have some pace.

rain has ceased, A matter of A) Calling it off today B) Calling it off tomorrow or C) having sides turn up to determine there own fate, I actually believe if there is no more rain it will be option C this week for some reason, dont ask me why. But noticed the forecast has a few early showers for tomorrow

I don't think there will be any play tomorrow in Adelaide Turf.

Are Grange still spending big money on Brad Young and co to keep them around the mark in A1?

No one at AHOS gets piad anymore mate. As club treasurer of 6 years no one has been paid in my time as treasurer. There were incentives etc early on 12 or so years ago but that has been cut out now. Sad that it has got to that. I take pride that I play for a team that plays for each other and for the reasons rather than for financial incentives.

Shane Martin (goodwood) was in the academy with Langer, Ponting, McGrath I think.

I agree that Shane Martin might have been at the academy as the same time as Langer and co, but Duffett is in a different age bracket. Duff would be about 34, whereas Langer would be 40. However both were at PADCC when Langer was based at the academy and again I don't think they played A's together. Langer was gone by the time Duffett made it to 'A' grade.

I know of at least 1 club in A1 that doesn't pay any players.
