You do realise the Port Magpies aren't a 'club' as such anymore don't you?

Bit like the Eagles.

The Eagles at least have a Board who govern solely in their interests.

You're right Port Adelaide are THE club!

As for the eagles, that would be self-interest right?

Thanks for proving my point.

We are all proud that your "club" "decided" to do exactly what the board of your AFL franchise wanted to do which in turn was exactly what the AFL wanted them to do which is because one of their sponsors told them what they wanted which in turn will devalue our competition. So very proud.

Looking forward to your club joining us in that competition, just like they did last season.

My lord but you sprout some self deluded nonsense.

The cannibalisation of what used to be the Magpies by the Power remains one of the saddest and most selfish things SA footy has ever seen.

PS I'm 'proud' my club told the AFL/Foxtel to stick their $3 and rubbish jumpers up their jacksy.

Yes because Norwood would have done their AFL entry sooo much better. What with reinforcing their strong tradition, red and blue guernsey and singing "It's a Grand old Flag" all the way .... oh wait...? :-t

Off topic but didn't Port spruik 35000 average to their games at home ? A let down ever since and needed drastically I would think. Obviously never proven but was often said that the Norwood /Sturt bid was by far the better one but that bid was never endorsed .

Yes all those Norwood and Sturt supporters jumping off would have done wonders for the Crows attendances (who are lucky to get 35,000 to their games these days by the way).

Obviously never proven (YET) but was often said that Norwood were negotiating with the AFL in 1990 as well but that bid was never endorsed.

I've always thought that was a rumour invented by Port Adelaide to distract attention from their sell out of the SANFL.
It had never been heard of before Port's action came to light.

The version I heard was that Norwood were approached twice a few years apart, and turned the approaches down.
Then Port Adelaide were approached and negotiated.
