Please explain? Pretty sure this bloke can handle anything that comes his way, seen him win game of his own boot. 1 of the best recruits in SGL for a long time.

He means the culture around the club. Off the field.
nothing to do with the player, just the club he's going to. tv are soulless with a single emphasis on buying players. likely to hear banjos playing in the background as well. there's no doubt it will be a culture shock.
pretty sure he would have seen it all playin under the legendary bobby boston for the past 2 yrs

Petersen-gray from Mt Lofty to Happy Valley according to SFL forum. Surely Lofty wouldn't let him go that easily, why wouldn't he go to Morphett Vale with Coleman. From all accounts it'd be better to follow Coleman than Dent.

Not to bad. Only managed 12 games for the season but was in the best players at least half of those games

Plays in defence, is a good size and strong, why do you ask, is he going somewhere else? The games he missed were do to army committments.

Fair enough, he was part of a pretty good defence, but the team fell down up forward at times and just missed the finals, may have covered that problem for 2012 with the signing of a couple of forwards from Walkerville in Div 2 SAAFL.

Heard today Hahndorf will be paying their B graders to play footy in 2012. Apparently this occurred after a large number of B graders were about to walk away and play elsewhere. Interesting concept, are the players holding the club to ransom in the lower grades now? Clubs can't afford to lose players in large numbers with the current points system.

i'd really like to see someone from hahndorf respond to this, because it sounds like rubbish to me. sure, they might give the b-grade best players some cash for a win, but paying the b-grade to play doesn't ring true.

It's been done before. Torrens Valley and Bridgewater were paying players in the B grade weren't they?

Can't confirm this. I know that the idea of paying each player in both grades a set amount (plus bonuses for best players) was discussed - don't know if it went any further. The amount was a pretty minimal figure and was only paid when the side won AND if the player had trained during the week.

The idea has its merits but no player should be payed to play B grade.

There's been no mass walkout at hahndorf and the measure was more to build a club culture by giving players incentive to train and play: i dont think it would help much in this respect - money wont make a cohesive group!
